I'm sorry, I'm not going to further confuse people by changing it again.

There, either that worked because I posted first in the free for all or because BlackIce didn't post in his time limit so either way I can now go off for the night and not check back. TA!

^The free for all has begun.

TMAC selects Jason Kidd.

I'll wait a bit so its not seen as giving myself an advantage.

We select Kendall Gill as a glue guy for our squad at SG. He's a good two way player - good as a positional rebounder, passer, can knock down shots, athletic, can get to the rack, good ball thief, perimeter defender... just a guy who can do a little bit of everything for us. It's a perfect situation for Gill. He's another phenomenally talented guy who is happy to blend in rather than be the man... we've already got our big three scorers.

John Starks.

Defense, intensity explosiveness, range, topped off with legitimate playoff experience. Also proven to excel in the 6th man role.

Follow up on the Jason Kidd pick:

We needed a couple things from our guard spot. A guard with size, rebounding ability, and possess the flexibility to play with either Van Exel or Dumars in the backcourt. While Kidd is only a rookie, he still averaged well over 5 boards per game, dished out 8 assists, and got nearly two steals. He's never been a shooter for the duration of his prime, so as a rookie he still provides those quality intangibles that made him into the hall of fame player he is today. It was either he, or Starks for the position, and because of NVE, and Dumars being more combo guards, we felt getting a more pure PG was a greater need.

He sparked the biggest turnaround in the NBA this season, and for the second half of the season, in a rather significant 35 game sample size, Kidd averaged the following, helping him finish to a surprisingly 13th place finish in MVP voting:

Code: Select all

14.5 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 7.9 APG on just over 40% from the floor.

Seeing as we are reaching the point of absurdity here, I will pick for BI after talking with others.

He selects Olden Polynice.

Sorry about that guys, I didn't have access to a computer. I'd rather not get into it, I'm good with the O.P pick though, thanks Snake.

Robert Horry.

Image

Though known later in his career for clutch moments, Robert Horry was in fact a very solid all round player on both ends of the floor. He could shoot, brought great energy, and even early in his career stepped up extremely well in very important situations.

In selected year hHe set the record with 7 steals in an NBA Finals game, and also set a record for most 3 pointers made in an NBA finals quarter. He had one game winner in each of the NBA finals and ECF against the Spurs, and averaged an impressive 17 points and 10 boards per game in the NBA finals in 1995.
