Derek (North Carolina)
Chances of Bulls landing Lebron? Do you think Rose and James would be able to work well together on the same team?
Chris Sheridan (3:48 PM)
If you want me to put a percentage on it, I'll say this: Right now I would guess the percentage scoreboard reads Chicago/Miami/NY 30 percent each, Cleveland 5 percent and NJ/LAC 5 percent. That's my opinion only, and that's my May 17 opinion.
Coming from a big NY homer like Sheridan, thats not bad. He's never going to let go of the Knick dream. But his reasoning for NJ's chances being so low are believable.
The Mecca (NY)
Chris i'm getting scared we might end up with Joe Johnson and resigning David Lee.
Chris Sheridan (3:43 PM)
I've mentioned this in a couple columns and chats, and it bears repeating: The reading I get from people in the know is that Joe has no interest in playing in NY. He's from Little Rock, he's a quiet guy, and he just wouldn't be the right fit. As far as Lee goes, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world (if they don't get LeBron) to keep him and divvy up the remaining cap space on 3-4 value players. What's going to be key for the Knicks is how much time LeBron takes to decide. If it's a long time, they could lose Lee in the interim.
John (LA)
The Clippers have the BEST supporting cast out of all the teams that can sign Lebron..........why are they never even mentioned by any of the major ESPN analysts as being a possible destination?
Chris Sheridan (3:54 PM)
John, I list them down in Nets territory because as great as the allure is in both places (Jay-Z friendship/Hollywood lifestyle), I think that is more than offset by the Clippers' second-class citizen status in LA, which is never going away, and the Nets two-year purgatory in Newark while they wait for the Brooklyn Arena to be built. In NY construction circles, a two-year project often means a three- or four-year project, and I'm skeptical they'll get that building up by the start of the 2012-13 season.
