It goes rather off.

I saved you the pre-battle planning, so the link leads right to the moment when their frontal armor is pierced with a depleted uranium shell and the shame of an ignominious defeat is fresh in their bossoms.

I wouldn't normally dip so low as to revel in their dissapointment, but they was talkin' a pretty good bit of smack about us in particular, thus making it nasty enough to override my morals.

I didn't read the outrage, but I imagine it is over having 2 teams(Wiz and Sixers) jump ahead in the draft lotto.

Cousins has been unimpressive enough that he might fall into their laps at 6. It does suck to slip out of the top 4, but there isn't much difference between 6 and 5(which is the spot they tied for). They should be able to get a solid contributor from the draft. Also if they really must have Favors or Cousins, they have some young pieces that could be used to move up in the draft.

It had more to do with the fact that they dropped to 6th instead of moving up or staying where they were projected to go.

Well, after they repeatedly degraded our guys on their board I don't find my tear ducts to be particularly active in reviewing their burnt out husk smoldering in the sand whisped wastes.

Since when do you ever bother to ask, Ji? By the way, how did you like the historic winter? We in Richmond did okay, but nothing like the DC area did.

You only get to start the game threads in which Wall isn't playing.

^^The gyrating/ sprinkler old dude that spit on Swami is quite possibly the only person not happy with John Wall coming to DC. That guy pwned the "Dance Cam" for years. He's gonna have to incorporate the "John Wall" into his schtick in order to have any hopes of securing his $50 gift certificate to the Chop House. And ya know, you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

The times they are a changin' for sure.

I think Griffin was THE number 1 pick in last years draft. This year John Wall is A number 1 pick. What I mean by this was that last year Griffin seemed to be far better than the rest of the draft picks. However Wall seems to be the type of guy you hope to get when you have the number 1 pick, rather than say Kwame Brown(or even KMart or Bogut). Wall however seems to fit better in the group of Yao, LeBron, Dwight Howard, Allen Iverson and Tim Duncan - first picks who have a decent shot at the Hall of Fame.

GREAT point. John Wall stands alone in this draft, similar to the guys named. Blake Griffin seemed to be the best of the bunch that particular year.

wonder what this board would of been like if we won the lottery pick when Oden/Durant came out? My guess is most would of wanted Oden

Oh, I wanted Durant, always did. I said I'd trade Gil (he was just coming off his first injury) or anyone for the opportunity to draft him. Hell, I still want Durant.

Durant is probably the only player in the NBA that I would trade Wall for right now.

A franchise centre, or a stud small forward who is a DC native

i think a lot would have wanted KD (and i think the wiz may have even given trading down a serious thought). blazers fans were even pretty 50/50 on the decision back then too.

i was actually a sonics fan, until they moved. i remember watching youtube highlights over and over and downloading a few games. i remember being really, really impressed by Oden's footwork for such a young guy. I also thought he was some mid 40's cat who had a mid-life crisis and went back to college to play ball. Poor kid looks older than my dad. I also remember being equally impressed by KD, particularly his length and his smoooooth jumpshot. either of them could have been a number 1 pick, and not just that year. what if KD and Oden were in this years draft? i could easily see them going ahead of Wall.

for the record, ive been a bullets/wiz fan for almost as long as ive loved basketball. Doug Overton played PG for a year with the Illawarra Hawks of the Australian NBL, my local, much loved team. i took interest in the bullets when he played for them. he was easily one of the best imports to ever play the game over here. we need a pg again this year, i wonder if he can still ball.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I had to think a minute on what the roster even looked like just a few years ago, but then I realized that I probably would've gone with Oden. I'm in the mindset that there are 2 positions that difficult to come by and that's PG's and C's.

Despite Oden looking like he was 40, I don't think that I would have picked up a wing player instead of Oden

I'm sorry for bumping this up, but this thread never gets old. From Dat calling Ji out on the first page to jubilation for like 10 pages, it's awesome reading this.
