I'd do that deal without thinking twice, even if Rush is not involved since it will give the Clippers more cap space and another lotto pick. Maybe, afterwords, talk to the Hornets about #8 + DeAndre for Collison + #13? Take Monroe/Udoh/Whiteside at #10 and George at #13.

Collison - Gordon - George or FA - Blake - Kaman
Ford - Butler - George or FA - Rhino - #10th pick

I wouldn't. To me Randolph would just be blocked by Blake at PF.

Sterling isn't as cheap as he was. I think the playoff run in 2006 changed the way he looks at things. He still likes to make money of course, but I think he realized he can still turn a profit and win. I think he also understands now if he wins he'll turn even more of a profit. Sterling used to go to games once in a while and now he shows up to games all the time.

If he was as cheap he wouldn't have extended Dunleavy for what he did, he wouldn't have built the state of the art training center, and he wouldn't have taken on Randolph's contract that was supposedly unmovable.

I wouldn't put much faith into a rumor from the bleacher report.

That's a king's ransom for Baron. We'd probably still have enough cap room for a max (depending where the final number falls). I couldn't see Indiana considering that at all.

I wouldn't mind it, but i can't see you guys giving up that #10 pick or Rush as well.

We won't trade you Gordon for a package that includes your 3rd string pg, an injury to happen in Dunleavy(BTW: His dad isn't with us anymore) and a late lotto pick, even if we could save quite some money on Baron's contract.

Interesting. I don't know how I would feel about getting Oden. Though, I don't see the Blazers doing this.

Pacers Deal

Post#1115 » by blueandgold » Tue Jun 8, 2010 9:48 pm

Only way I would pull this trigger:

Pacers send-
TJ Ford (He is a lame duck in a Pacer uniform)
Rush (the real bargaining chip in this deal)
#10 Pick

Clippers return-
Baron Davis (This replacement instead of Ford is got to be better. 4 year deal; however, allows us to trade yet this year for a young underdeveloped PG to have Davis mentor or Draft one in the next two years with the same strategy. Davis may be a 6th man or minior minutes guy in the 3rd and 4th year before retirement)

Gordon (This is the real deal. Definitely, NO drop off as a Rush replacement. Indy kid; have him retire here with his jersry in the rafters. No need to get a 2 guard in the draft or trades for many years. Dunleavy backs him up, he needs the reduced minutes anyway and should be able to play against competition's second string every night)

#8 Pick- Moving up 2 slots gives is the opportunity to catch someone that may slip. Here is where we get our BIG PF. Greg Monroe or Patrick Patterson could be here. It's the break we needed.

Send this to Bird and Morway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No thanks I don't even see how this helps the team, and for future reference we have a trade thread sticky at the top.

No way we do this, and this should be posted in the trade thread. Maybe something like Ford/Rush/#10 for Baron/#8 could be discussed.

Come on man, are you serious? So basically:

Davis > Ford
Gordon > Rush
8th pick > 10th pick

Why on Earth would we agree to this?

Pretty much.

I've seen that thread on the Pacers board and most of them are drooling over the possibility of getting Gordon and that #8 pick, if they do trade for Davis.

Though, i can't see us trading Baron right now and if we were to trade him to Indy, it would be something like Baron for their expiring 3rd string pg(Ford) and that underachieving guy(Rush) going into his third season.
Anything including Gordon and that #8 pick is not going to happen.

Given what most of you know of Hollywood BDiddy.....do you think that he would voluntarily go from warm and sunny Hollywood to a Small Market like Indy?

Being the "diva" that he is....my thought is that he would not be very happy going to a small market like Indy and would prefer to stay in close proximity to Hollywood.

Regardless, I would not want the Pacers to trade for BDiddy....technically, he's the best Player in any deal with the Pacers and way better then anything that the Pacers have....but I consider him overpaid, the likely cost of acquiring him would be way too high, he's shown he's had a propensity too come into the start of the season "out of shape", his primary focus isn't always Basketball ( due to his Hollywood aspirations ) and he has a tendency to "butt heads" with Head Coaches.

Acquiring BDiddy may be a recipe for "un-needed" drama that I do not want the Pacers to add to their proverbial "mix".
