Now we're hearing that Gomes isn't involved in the deal. Who knows at this point......

I think Flynn and Session did fix our PG position, it wasn't absolute crap, they did all right considering their age and experience.

Weird, out there theory - but maybe this is a disguised trade for Pritchard to become the wolves gm...

I am begging for someone to please explain to me why in the f*ck the Timberwolves would do this.

I wouldn't trade Gomes straight up for Webster. But we give up Gomes and Babbit??? It's not like Gomes was making a huge salary either - he made more than Webster last year.

Please someone explain SOME reason why the Wolves would do this - other than to make the team worse.

I am really looking forward to the justification.

16 for Webster would be debated

Gomes for Webster would be debated

Why not just take James Anderson at 16 instead.. I just don't get this deal.. though Webster does expire after this year I guess..

I don't dislike Webster. At least he can hit a jump shot. He's probably the best scoring 2/3 we have right now.

Its been fun. I quit. Unless KAHN pulls off magic, which right now he's getting worked, I'm done.

And yet we're all waiting for Rubio to ride in here on a white horse.

Kahn better be able to pull something out of his behind within the next 2 weeks. Otherwise I think most will have lost confidence in him

They make this deal because they know Webster still has potential to be a better player and because they obviously have a premium on spacing the floor with good shooters.

They've shown this with Ellington, Wes Johnson and now Martell Webster which makes sense when you've got Flynn and Sessions at PG and still makes sense when Rubio comes over.

PG Flynn/Sessions
SG Brewer/Ellington/Webster
SF Johnson/Webster
PF Jefferson/Love
C Millic/Jefferson

That is an actual NBA rotation and they'll still have cap space to make moves going from now. They just need to dump Hollins and they'll be 9 deep with real rotation players and under the cap. The ace in the hole is and always was Rubio and a collection of assets.

Why not just take James Anderson though? He can shoot and is younger and cheaper.

Brightside:

We went from having the worst set of wing shooters in the NBA to possibly the best

Hey guys, sorry about the pritchslap comment earlier I'm just frustrated Pritchard got fired.

I wouldn't be so down on this trade, Martell can be a great player in the right system. He's an extremely hard worker (last season he was the first guy back training when the Blazers were eliminated by the Rockets) who has his head screwed on right. He lost the starting spot to Batum this year but looked at it in the best way possible, a new challenge that he had to overcome and never stopped trying to outdue Batum (in a friendly competitive sorta way). He's inconsistent, but shows flashes of a ton of potential and he can still be a solid starter on a championship team.

Kahn's drafting is so one-dimensional.

Last year that PG stuff, this year SF's.
