Not only that -- EG said himself that whoever he drafts is playing this year. No stashing.

^ I hope that's accurate, I'll be uber-frustrated if we have to wait on him. Get the young pup over here playing and practicing with NBA level talent so he keeps developing.

So, off the front page of Bullets Forver, there's the Mike Lee quote...
So, do you get a work visa if you're not playing for the Zards next year? maybe, but hopefully all the dot-dot-dot's spelled out this far mean that he's coming over.
Seriphan will not participate in summer league as he recovers from his right knee injury suffered a few weeks ago. He might not come to Washington until he receives his work visa in about a month or two, according to Seriphan's agent, Bouna N'Diaye.

"I rebound, I block shots, and I can [bang]," Seraphin said, pounding his fist into his hand with a grin. "I am excited to play for Washington. They saw me play a lot and I plan to work hard."
Get that man a visa! Or he will bang.

"[bang]."
I wonder what the actual word was. Acc. to Google Tranlsate, "bang" translates to a few words in French. From the verbs:
cogner
claquer
battre
baiser
éclater
détoner
frapper violemment
Feel free to pick one and use as a nickname.

He actually said that much in English, apparently he knows a small bit. It's pretty funny to watch in video form...

Re: Kevin Seraphin
I think EG knew exactly what he was doing when he traded the #30 and #35 picks, EG knew that Trevor Booker probably would not be available at #30.
In my opinion we will see TB playing more SF than PF...at least on the defensive end.
About Seraphin, well...he's a tough kid, with good hands, very strong, some people see in him a bright future, other people have some doubts(largely because of possible adaptation problems), I spoke with a French friend of mine, a fan of basketball, and he told me that he should go to the NBA this year, he thinks that he'll not learn much more in France and I've the same opinion.

I hadn't considered that. But they've talked about bringing Josh Howard back and if they do, I'm not sure there would be many available minutes at SF after Howard and Thornton. I think Booker's quickness and athleticism at PF gives us a much better advantage, especially going against reserves.

Re: Kevin Seraphin
Zut alors?
Anyway, maybe Blatche and Booker can play together, because Blatche has strengths that counterbalance Booker's weaknesses. Blatche can hit the long jumpers and drive to the basket. So, if Booker just works very hard on his jump shot, and cut to the lane for layup receptions, that's about all he needs to do on offense - other than setting picks. Defensively, he can cover 3's. It might work out ok.

I was hoping I'd never see that phrase again after McGuire left

Re: Kevin Seraphin
Yeah he is. This is ACC country and I've seen him kill UMD for years. He plays a game that translates to interior and perimeter scoring ability in the NBA. He can shoot out to 17ft but if he can develop out to the NBA 3 he's a big match up problem at the 4 and a nightmare for NBA SF.
Basketball has it's complexities and EG made an intelligent pick with Booker.

There's a whole lotto college players without jump shots that develop them in the NBA. At least Clemson gave him the green light to shoot from outside, and while he didn't make a good percentage, supposedly his form greatly improved. In all fairness to Dom, he wasn't in an environment that helped his growth. Btw, Booker is a better and more dynamic athlete than Dom was.

I absolutely love this pick and don't understand the anger over this. Booker is undersized but has excellent athleticism and plays with a nasty demeanor this team sorely lacks. He can be a great 20-25 minute a game player who can backup both forward positions.

He has an NBA body at 263 lbs. The scouts must have seen some good things about it.
