Re: Clippers Trade Proposals Thread (All Fan-Made Trades Here)
I just posted my latest Clippers offseason plan in the T&T board.
This is what it looks like:
I have put a lot of thought into which direction the Clippers should go in this offseason. I highly doubt LeBron comes to LAC, but I think this would be the second best option.
Trade 1 (LAC/NOH):
Griffin/#8/$14 mil TPE for Paul/Posey
Why for NOH?
They get the #1 pick last year, who could easily win the ROY next year over Wall or Turner, and would be a great pair with Collison for the next decade. This trade also gives them another top 10 pick this year, and they get rid of Posey's contract and this saves them about $14 million without taking luxury tax savings into account.
Trade 2 (LAC/TOR):
Kaman/Baron/'12 First from MIN (Unprotected) for Bosh (S&T - MAX)/Jack
Why for TOR?
They are going to lose Bosh anyways, and this way they get a current all-star and a former all-star in return, while also getting a possible top 5 or top 10 pick in two years! This will allow TOR to stay competitive now and in the future even without Bosh.
Trade 3 (LAC/OKC):
RIghts to Sofo for #32
Why for OKC?
The Thunder need a solid big body in the paint, and they can take a chance of Sofo, along with their other picks as a low risk option.
Draft Craig Brackens (32), Da'Sean Butler (54)
Free Agency
Resign Rasual Butler 2yrs/4mil - Very good friends with CP3 from their NO days. Played well with the Clips last year.
Sign Shaq 1yr/3mil - I believe that's about as much cap space we would have left after the deals. Does Shaq have one more year in him?
Sign Hilton Armstrong 1yr/min - Could reuniting him with CP3 keep his career afloat?
Sign Ime Udoka 1yr/min - good veteran presence who can hit the 3 and play some defense.
Resign Mardy Collins 1yr/min - Good reserve PG who knows his role.
Resign Steve Novak 1yr/min - Deadly shooter who would spread the floor for CP3.
2010/11 Los Angeles Clippers
Paul/Jack/Collins
Gordon/Udoka/D. Butler
R. Butler/Posey/Novak
Bosh/Brackens/Armstrong
O'Neal/Jordan/Armstrong
Thoughts?

I'm not sure why you guys are even looking at trades. You have a ton of cap space, the 8th pick in the draft and 4 very nice starters (Kamen, Blake Griffin, Gordon, and Baron). Not sure why you aren't just targeting a premier swing man with your cap space. You could offer a near max contract to Joe Johnson or Paul Pierce and end up as a real competitor in the West. Pierce would be ideal. Baron is one of his closest friends, he grew up in Inglewood, and he'd love the challenge of going up against Kobe 8 times a year.

Memphis would match $14M for Gay, and I imagine Minnesota will pay a little more too.

Re: Clippers Trade Proposals Thread (All Fan-Made Trades Here)
Anyone think that maybe we can somehow manage to trade for Chris Paul? Maybe Kaman and the 8th pick or something like that? The Hornets probably wouldn't do it especially with Okafor at center already and its a lopsided deal in favor of the Clippers but I'm just saying as an example. Then we can dump Baron somewhere for an expiring contract and a draft pick. Indiana could be a trading partner for Baron since they need a pg. Maybe we can get Murphy to backup Griffin and Jordan or we could go with TJ Ford in the trade instead to back up Paul and then have the Pacers throw in the 10th pick too. There's not too many possibilities to make trades since the Clips only have 5 players under contract but it could attract Lebron since the rumor is that he would like to play with Paul. I don't know if the Clippers would still have the money to offer Lebron a max deal after those trades though. I don't know, just an idea I thought I'd put out there.

^I have been mentioning a Griffin/#8 for Paul/Posey deal, which many posters have said to be the best deal for CP3 so far. Then I would try to get someone like Bosh by sending out Kaman/Baron and pair him with CP3 and EJ.

So you want to rebuild the team and start over with 12 new guys?
Griffin's going nowhere and Paul coming here is a pipe dream.

Re: Clippers Trade Proposals Thread (All Fan-Made Trades Here)
I don't think we should get involved in the CP3 sweepstakes. Baron was much improved last year. If we can get him another star then his production will rise to a higher level.
Plus I don't think we have the assets to get him, excluding Blake Griffin of course. But there's no way we give him up.
I think CP3 ends up with a borderline championship team. Somebody like Portland, where he can take them over the top.

Re: Clippers Trade Proposals Thread (All Fan-Made Trades Here)
We are neither here nor there now after the draft. By that I mean I don't think we have a gaping hole to fill, but not so much depth that we have great trade assets.
I want to trade Kaman, but only for value. At this point I wish we had Camby instead of Kaman.

Re: Clippers Trade Proposals Thread (All Fan-Made Trades Here)
Ok ok ok, The nba draft was yesterday and all the dust has cleared. Way to go clippers, did a bang up job in the draft, drafting Aminu, Bledsoe, and Warren. This really helps the clippers out, leaves the clippers with many options going into FA market in a week. But there is still more they can do. Dont think the clippers will get a max contract player, but that may not be all bad. And this is the trade thread section so here is my game plan.
First trade Davis to Indiana for Murphy and Rush. Indiana is looking for a PG and willing to use Murphy to get one. This is my trade. Might even have to throw in a draft pick, but this must get done befor June 1. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=28ax7d4
Now onto June. Resign Outlaw. The clippers are not going to get James, and Gay will just end up being a bidding war with a few teams, resigning Outlaw is basically signing Gay, if not getting a better player.
Then sign PG JJ Ridick. The Clippers only real FA signing, Outlaw will be a resign.
May even sign Big Sofo.
After all is said and done here is what the LA Clippers would look like
PG Ridick/Bledsoe/Warren
SG Gordon/Rush
SF Outlaw/Aminu
PF Griffin/Murphy/Sofo
C Kaman/Jordan
This will leave the Clipper young, fast, and a strong core for the future, plus with trading for Murphy allows flexibility for 2011 FA signings, and the Clippers would still be under the salary Cap

Re: Clippers Trade Proposals Thread (All Fan-Made Trades Here)
I wouldn't mind trading Davis to Indy, but i doubt they'd want to part with Rush and the guy coming back would most likely be TJ Ford(plus something else to make the numbers work).
The guy's name you want to sign is JJ Redick and he's a shooting guard with hardly any handles.
That team you've listed would hardly win 30 games next year, because there's no real point guard(Bledsoe will need some time to adjust to the league) on it and Outlaw is more of a stretch four then a real small forward.

No more trades. I think the table is set, all we need is to sign Lebron. Then Butler, Steve Blake and Gooden.

Lebron won't come here.
And i don't think we'll get us Gay, Iggy or Deng(that's the last guy i'd want) because that would mean we'd just spend our #8 pick on a back up forward for Blake and either of those guys, with Aminu not being able to make it to the starting lineup for some years, if at all.
Realistically, i think we'll look for one of those Mike Miller(to bad he won't come here with all those contenders waiting to sign him) type of free agents and look to strengthen our bench even more.

If we signed LeBron (which would be GREAT!), we would only have room for players to sign the vet min, and we wouldn't have the bird rights to Butler, Blake, and Gooden. They wouldn't sign for the vet min, so this is not possible.

What about a deal that is based upon the following.
Clips trade:
Bledsoe
Aminu
Raps trade:
Bosh
Jack
James joins Bosh in LAC. They would be a monster team. Raps get 2 guys they need at PG and SF. Bledsoe is a penetrator/great defender, Aminu is an excellent rebounder and defender. Aminu would allow bargs to play the 5 and Davis at the 4.

Re: Clippers Trade Proposals Thread (All Fan-Made Trades Here)
How do we get Chris Paul and Lebron without trading Blake Griffin?
3way trade:
OKC gets Kaman.
NO gets Aminu, Jeff Green, MIN's future first, and 2010 first round pick from LAC.
LAC gets Chris Paul.
Then send Baron to NYC for a future 2nd round pick.
New lineup:
PG - CP3/Bledsoe
SG - Gordon/Warren
SF - Posey
PF - Blake/Gooden?/Smith?
C - DJ/cheap FA or undrafted rookie
Would Lebron come to the Clips now with this team? We basically traded Baron and Kaman for CP3 and Posey.

Perhaps the Clips should think of re-signing Shaun Livingston. I watched him play toward the end of last season and he looked fully recovered.

What exactly do we need Bosh for?
We've got Griffin at that position and want to see what he can do first.
We also couldn't sign Griffin after a deal like that, cause all of our cap space would be gone.
BTW: You guys shouldn't ever expect a package like that in a sign and trade for Bosh. Two future first rounders(meaning late in the draft), some semi decent prospect and expiring contracts(TPE if you're really lucky) is what most of those sign and trades will send to the team giving up the desired player.
Clippers easily turn this one down and both of our teams aren't good trading partners IMO.

Just read this blog from Eric Puncus.
http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=16609
If we don't get Lebron, since we like Greg Monroe so much, why don't we trade Kaman for Prince and Monroe.
Then we would still gave a max slot to go after Amare or Bosh to play C.
This would give us a very nice young nucleus and veterans like Baron and Prince to lead the team.
