If we give Ridnour the MLE, I will be pretty upset with Hammond.

3 years/$12 million is the maximum I would go for him.

Depends who else Hammond would be considering. He has $10M set aside for Salmons and Ridnour.

Given that Ridnour's expiring contract overpaid him, I'd rather expect the new one to do so too. Not to the same level, but higher than the figures being assumed here.

His past season went very, very well. He's the kind coaches like and trust. Someone will pay him.

My guess: $10 million for Salmons and Ridnour is low by a couple million or so.

You definitely have to bring Ridnour back. Two reasons.

1. He is the best backup PG out there.
2. The team chemistry works really well with him in there.

He's solid. They wont grossly overpay him and all things being equal I think he really enjoyed his time here. Go get him show him some respect and get it done.

Plus, we will get advance scouting on his kid. Kid smoked the competition last year in the baby race.

Luther Head should be available, can play the 1 & 2 and can hit the 3 at a decent clip.

MLE is too much. Ridnour had a career year last year, and he is only worth MLE if he plays that well again.

I however, think he will return to his career averages, so I would not pay him MLE.

Sign Carlos Arroyo or Chris Duhon.

Kevin Ollie is still in the League??

I'd look at Acie Law or Earl Watson,

No way these two are worth the full MLE. I would be really disappointed if one of them got the full MLE.

What about Carlos Arroyo. I figure he could be had cheap from the Heat (talkin vet minimum), has experience, good size, shoot ok, defends ok, doesn't turn it over much. I'm no expert on him but he has always interested me.

ETA: btw, I would really prefer resigning Luke but not at the MLE. Can't see it.....

Shannon opted out ..someone will overpay him and we defenitly wont match it if its any where near full MLE money. I think a guy like Chris Quinn or Earl Watson are realistic backups for 1.5mill 1yr

I'd be ok with Earl Watson if Ridnour signed elsewhere

I would love to see Kyle Lowry on our roster next season.

How about Randy Foye? He could play as a backup SG and he can also play backup PG. He caught my eye when I was looking at the perimiter sharpshooter thing on NBA.com and he seems to be an ok player, even though I'm not really familiar with him at all. Anyone know much about this guy?

Randy Foye, 26, Washington Wizards (restricted)
10.1 PPG, 1.9 RPG, 3.3 APG, .414 FG%, .346 3P%, 15.1 EP40
With Gilbert Arenas, John Wall and Kirk Hinrich (as of July 8) in Washington, there's no room for Foye, who should find a job as the first guard off the bench somewhere else.

Jason Williams was great for the Magic, he really stepped up when Nelson got injured. He shot 38% from 3 and would be great value if we could get him on a 1yr/1M contract.

I'd imagine he'd want quite a bit more than that since he made $1.3 million last year.

Really? I thought he was signed for close to the minimum. I can't confirm because Shamsports is down.

Only problem with Lowry or Foye is they're both looking for more minutes than they would get behind Jennings.
