I hope so. It'll be between us, who'll offer 2.5 mill, and Chicago and Miami, who may or may not (fingers) have the cap space left.

If he's a Laker, I'll be the dude voting Mike Miller to run the offense that I think he will learn really quickly.

Mike Miller, with Shaun Livingston are the answers though. That could happen for 4 million dollars IMO.

It'll all depend on what Brown does.

If the Lakers have a 4-5 million dollar "budget" for filling holes this summer not including Shannon Brown, then, if Brown decides to stay, his contract eats up half the budget.

With Brown opting in, they'd be compelled to spend only another 2 million to save costs (gotta get under 90 mill).

There's no MLE if they start UNDER the cap, which they are. Even if the new deals put them over it they don't get the MLE.

Ok thats what I was trying to find out. If they were able to position themselves to be over the cap if they would be able to get the MLE.

actually, all teams start with the MLE, LLE and TPEs and they count against their cap if they are under the cap. this is prevent teams having less than the MLE in cap-room being disadvantaged by the amount they have to offer FAs.

thus a team thats 3 mil or 30 mil under the cap have the MLE, LLEs cut into their salary cap considerations.

in order to reclaim the capspace, teams have to renouce their MLEs, LLEs, TPEs. again preventing teams from spending up to the cap, then using their exceptions to add talent.

with chicago, they have to renounce their MLE, TPE (from hinrich etc...), LLE in order to achieve that bandied around ~30+ mil capspace that will allow them to offer 2 max contracts.

I wish Mitch found a way to land Ricky Rubio. Looks like he needs a couple of championships in the NBA to add to his collection.

ricky rubio represents the great promise-land to the twolves.

no way they deal without us throwing bynum in at the least. and theres no way bynum's being moved while we can't have our ricky rubio til next season.

i think someone who can be picked up is patty mills, thats if the blazers dont feel they need him anymore...

Bosh says he won't play Center, does that end speculation of a sign and trade?

If a trade did go down, I always assumed Bosh would play the 5 and Pau the 4.

I thought just the opposite since Pau has proven he can play at Center.

I think we should trade some of our bench players to the pistons for jason maxiell since hes on the block...hes undersized but makes it up with strength and shot blocking and could boost our defense coming off the bench

Looks like it was him. The Bucks board is talking about it.

For the full MLE? Man I don't think Blake is worth the full MLE to be honest. Seriously if they are going to use the MLE and they value a pg that much then split it for Blake and perhaps Raja Bell. The full MLE is something that you throw at a guy like Mike Miller not Steve Blake. Mitch better not screw this one up.

Blake want to win and Miller does too, they should get together an agree to split MLE  add K. Thomas for the vet min. while we're at it for Bynum annual vacation insurance.

Blake sucks. So does Ridnour (edit: OK, he's not that bad, but MLE?).

At this point we'd be incredibly stupid for blowing our MLE on a PG, especially those two clowns.

I hope this is false like all other rumors turn out to be. I'd have a very hard time believing that we're not interested in Bell, Miller, or Redick (in that order), especially since Brown is expected to opt out.

We can get a PG via mid-season trade (Sasha/Farmar for Hinrich works nicely) if we absolutely need to, so I'd hate for us to waste our MLE on something that can be had through other means.

Man our PG aquisition with the names you guys are hearing really has me bummed I expected a much better guard thatn the names that are being bandied about.

Blake would likely also be a liability on defense likely but would be an excellent triangle guard offensively.

Why am I not seeing talk of LBJ & Bosh to join Wade in South Beach?

That's kinda obnoxious, that idea isn't it...

"How many dream teamers does it take to win an NBA Championship?"

How great would that be to take down MIA with three dream teamers, that would be quite a challenge. The three best FA sign in MIA, and from what I understand they'd all have to take about a 5M hit off the max for it to work, WOW!

I'm thinking if Phil truly was leaning towards retiring, the idea of Riles racking up a couple of championships would have to play a part in Phil's decision.

Jay Mariotti said the three peat is the reason he's going to try to come back, I say bs he doesn't have to prove shi*, the idea of a three peat barely influences his decision in my opinion, but if Riles is going to try to rack up a few championships that's gotta irk Phil, after all he's a HUGE competitor at heart.

Don't worry if it happens. The Lakers frontcourt would dismantle Miami's frontcourt.
