Can someone please tell me the easiest way to gain weight. I'm at about 160 and I'm 5'11. I'd like to get to 180 without resorting to McDonalds to gain the weight.

Yo mido 6'1, peso 195.

The best thing IMO, that you can do is drink some supplements and hit the gym hard.

Weight gainer protein + high calorie, high protein diet.

If you come down to DR for a couple of months I'd put you at 180 in no time.

Have open heart surgery and wait about 3 years...or turn 40 whichever comes first. Spend way more of your time watching hoops and writing about it now that you cant play it, hit a Dunkin Donuts for a Mocha Coolata now and then...with a donut of course...and no worries...you will put that weight on like you are Shawn Kemp the Child support years.

But the best advice? Never try to add weight. Add lean muscle and be whatever weight you are. Life will add weight over time. Every guy I knew back in the day who tried to add weight is a chubba now.

#1Are you working out?
#2 Why do you want to put on more weight?
#3Remember to look at the long term...

Like E just mentioned lean muscle is key...stay away from fast food and empty calories...at your age, early 20s, my body was very similar...I eat anything and everything and still not gain weight...But, I was always an athlete, I worked out all the time and my metabolism was through the roof, despite eating a good high calorie diet...

By the time I was out of college, I was around 187-188, 15lbs came from the gym another 5 or so was my body maturing...

Once you get to your late 20s, if you're that real skinny kid, you'll see your metabolism slow little by little...But you'll really mess up your metabolism eating high fat foods, unless you're actually working out every day, which will lessen that to an extent...It worked for me, trying to trick my metabolism for awhile...but it doesnt last, unless you dont really care what type of weight you're putting on...eventually it catches up to you...

Stick to high protein, low carb foods, have patience with your body and it will come in time...but to be truly healthy, stay away from those high fat (fried foods), they'll shorten your life real quick...Eat three real meals a day and limit your junk food...

The best advice I can give you, enjoy the years where you can't put on weight and let your body develop on its own...Its all mental...You really need to evaluate yourself and maybe accept your body for what is unless you're really serious about working out with weights...If your not, trying to just throw on weight can work against you in the worst way...

I don't mind my actual weight, I just want to please this chick I'm seeing.

As for working out, I'm just too lazy I guess(MJ, that's what Vago means lol). I don't have the discipline to establish a daily workout routine. Besides, would it really help me reach my ideal weight of 180?

just do it. What kind of shi*z is this? Trust me, I'm the absolute worst when it comes to working out. Hate it. HATE IT. I can play ball all day and won't mind it, but actually work out? Forget about it. Sooner or later, you just have to sit down and say "OK, one day at a time". You get through your first day, then the following day, you do it again. And again. And again. Eventually, it'll become a routine and you won't even think about it.

Secondly (if not first really), eat right. Get that fast food out of your diet. Severely limit your intake of fried stuff (and if you absolutely must, use like...virgin olive spray). Cut sugar as much as you can (from soft drinks, desserts, etc..). I've limit my intake of red meat too. Eat A LOT, but eat healthy...and eat in intervals. Don't skip breakfast then eat a heavy lunch and another heavy dinner.

Me too, I just don't have the patience for it, and working out is usually quite painful and this just demotivates me even more. Jeff, what I've found out that works for me is:

1) Have a gym buddy that you hang out and get along well with, because for me anyway I like to talk during the breaks and maybe have a few joke here and there.

2) If you have the resources go to a good gym. The reason for this is that if you go and pay monthly, I get kind of motivated to go, otherwise I'll feel like it was a complete waste of money.

This works for me anyway, I don't know what kind of person you are outside of RealGM, but I can tell you that I'm lazy as hell, so make your comparison if you wish.

With everything else in this post I do as well, you can't skip any meals and eat healthily, now I don't eat that healthy but I have cut back on more of the bad stuff. Also, make sure you get a lot of rest, you need to make sure that your muscles repair sufficiently, otherwise you're just going to be in pain for longer periods.
