Same reason why people keep referring to Fisher as a point guard.

Well NBA.com has a blip on the front page that the Lakers have denied this.

Because he's either that or a towel boy... Which would you rather have under contract. 8-)

I think Miller would be the perfect FA signing for the Lakers this off-season.

We all know how much the PG spot is a weak point, but an argument could be made that a back-up for Kobe and Ron Artest is just as much of a weak spot. I'd rather see Fisher keep getting big minutes instead of Sasha taking over as the 1st back-court guy off the bench, and being the 1st option when Kobe gets in foul trouble. Not even to mention Luke Walton...

yea I doubt the 30/5 is true. hopefully we can sign him a bit more cheaper so that we can still get a pointguard.

I doubt he would take an offer lower than that. A 5 year deal for a guy his age also provides security because he knows that he will most likely be employed for those next 5 years. If he gets lucky he might find a job for the same amount of money but for less years. It might not be easy finding a team at 33 or 34 for anything but the min. Kobe and Pau have at least 3 strong years ahead of them before falling off and I would expect Mike Miller to play well for at least those next 3 years.

Unless he is banking on a dynasty team to emerge somewhere then I don't see any other team that can offer winning and a good amount of money. I'm really curious what contending team can offer him the offer that was originally reported.

Then I'm really curious to what kind of deal they might be offering him that he was given up until Tuesday to think about. If it was something significantly lower then I would expect him to just blow the Lakers off and say he will be looking else where.

Why would Mitch not deny the rumor if his agent was just making it up? It wouldn't look to good for the Lakers if they are being used for players to find a new team. There is a video inside of Mitch saying it himself for someone thinking the source is just making things up once again.

However, Mitch Kupchak spoke early Friday morning after introducing the newest Lakers, Devin Ebanks and Derrik Caracter, and he would not confirm or deny any offers made to Miller.

I bet we split the MLE on Fish/Blake and will toss Sasha for Mike Miller type player then get a few vet min players...

I really doubt that Mitch would have signed Blake for that large portion of the MLE if that were our only FA move we have planned out already.
