“L.B. wants me to average a triple-double. For a coach to expect that from me, to really believe it’s doable, that’s a big compliment from a Hall of Fame coach,’’ Jackson said.

Do yall think its possible for big shot jack to average a triple double?

With his age? Hmm... Probably close to triple-double.

I think there is a greater chance of him playing an entire season the way he did that game Vs the Clippers in LA than there is of him averaging a triple double for an entire season.

Defense rebounding and making good passes is how you win in the NBA. Not surprising LB would challenge him in those areas.

so he is doing what he's supposed to do, just like most NBA players. Nothing suprising here.

He has never started this early though, I think he will come into this season truly hungry, with losing 10-15 pounds, it'll give him an extra step and needed athleticism that he didn't show last season

Given that he hasn't had a single triple-double in all his time with us, maybe he's aiming a bit high....

Practically impossible to average a triple-double,but if this means more motivation for him an he really comes hungry and willing to not only entering on playoffs but also moving into the seconund round and beyond i´ll be happy ^^.

I actually like him heavy.

I like that he can post up smaller SG's and back them down. He didn't do it as much as I would have liked him to, but he does have that ability.

I'm actually worried that shedding 10-15lbs might make him shy away from his post up game and turn him into a jump shooting SG - which is not a strength of his.

Heavy, he always seem to wear down in games. I always wondered why he would be torching cats, and then all of a sudden he would disappear. If he sheds this weight he might be able to keep up his onslaught, and put up elite numbers for us.

Or LB could use the bench a little more and stop playing Jax and Crash 9,000,000 mins per game!!

Either way, losing the weight and less minutes should both benefit him and the team. He's a very talented player, but I don't think he's gonna do what the big O Oscar Robertson did and average the triple double.

That's a given, but motivation is always a good thing.

Jack can still do everything he wants in the post at 225, lol. He played most of his career at 215-220 and his post game has been real solid for several years now.

Last year he beefed up to 240 because he knew he'd be playing the 3 most of the time for Golden State and the Warriors training staff encouraged him to get stronger than he ever was. He was completely on board with it, but obviously getting back to his normal weight range (215-225) is much better suited because he's back to his normal position.

It's definitely the right move to make. If you're expecting him to be more athletic, that's not going to happen (and doesn't need to happen). It will, however, improve his stamina, overall comfort level, and ability to chase opposing 2-guards through screens on D.
