If Jose is moved I wouldn't mind a pg duo of Jack/Foye , especially considering DD and Weems don't have range

i said the same thing, he has been learning the PG position for the last few years, he just needs a chance like Billiups did, who like foye was traded around a lot and was never given a chance at PG.

He has an early termination option... with his injury concerns, I'm not sure he'll opt out of guaranteed money.

Sorry, does this mean you also think you can reasonably argue that we aren't lacking that?

I mean we just had two straight years of lottery picks. DeMar, Sonny, Amir, Jack, Alabi, Davis, Bargs, Doresy, all 25 or under aren't they? I'd say we have a good deal of youth already.

BC is in a contract year, he won't try to suck. He'll try to be as good as we can even better if possible. Last years goal will be this years goal.

+1.

We already have youth, no more rebuilding. Lets get the proper pieces and try to make a run for the playoffs next year. You guys may disagree, but i like BC's approach.

We're losing a player that put up a top-50 season of all time and replacing him with spare parts.

How is this the type of approach that will garner a playoff appearance?

Adding a guy like Barnes, then hopefully getting Collison, hopefulllllly, i wouldnt ncall these guys spare parts. They cwould help us big time, while other guys pick up the scoring left behind by Bosh

Maybe he slipped Lebron a Roofie and he doesn't remember signing that contract last night.

Lol, sorry, my bad.

I also forgot the 'we have young players who will be improving while somehow all the other team's young players won't' mantra.

I hope it's Ronnie Brewer... he's something of what I want Demar to develop into. Solid defender, using his athleticism to get the rack.. hopefully if he's signed, this will help in DeRozan's development.

Foye is good, but I think he will demand more than the MLE. I think back in the 2006 draft there was a rumor that BC would have grabbed Foye if he traded down. BC also likes combo guards. Childress and Ronnie Brewer will be good options as well. However, I feel we need to solidify the C spot, so hopefully BC can trade Hedo back to the Magic for Gortat and another player. Then grabbing a SF will make more sense with the MLE.

If BC can give Amir Johnson $7 million per year over 5 years, then he'll have no problem giving full MLE to any of the mediocre players listed in this thread.

I don't understand the fascination with Ryan Gomes. I do NOT care if he is still young, but he was given ample opportunity to succeed in Minny, and failed to do so. What makes you guys think things would magically change? He is definitely not worth close to-full MLE.

The only players that make sense for our team is Ronnie Brewer, Josh Childress, Matt Barnes, or a RFA like Morrow.

Outside of Morrow, all guys play tough D. That should be the basis for all moves this off-season - that is to make this club a better team on the defensive end. If it so happens to be a young player who succeeds on that end, even better. Offensively, I am not worried about Bosh leaving this team. I think with a couple of moves, this team can be better now, and for the long haul.

Really? How did you come up with that? Link? Also, no matter what your answer is, you still would have to define it as 'top-50 statistical season of all time'.

That's exactly correct, and an unused MLE is a loss of an asset. Use the MLE well - and we'll have to see what transpires here - and you have another asset who can be converted into a pick or younger prospects.
