Its sad isnt it?? Nobody has any interest in this guy whatsoever.

Sedale Threatt wrote:That said, it's a contract year, and he went all out for the last one, so maybe we'll get one last decent season out of him. We sure could use it.

I agree but I hope we dont make the same mistake and resign him like we did before.

Well, at least we didn't give him a Walton deal. I'm still stunned at that one. Every time I look and see we're paying that clown over $15 million for the next three years I want to cry.

Lakers no longer interested in Miller

Post#225 » by SniperHawk10 » Sat Jul 3, 2010 11:08 pm

After agreeing to terms with free-agent guard Steve Blake, the Lakers are no longer courting forward Mike Miller.

"Source told FOXSports.com that the Lakers offer to Mike Miller is no longer on the table following the Steve Blake signing," Jeff Goodman wrote on his Twitter page.

What do you guys think, was the need for a point guard worth it if we are not able to sign Mike Miller?

The word Duh comes to mind at that article, obviously the offer is no longer on the table for Miller because we used majority of the MLE for Blake. There is only $1.8 left of the MLE and I doubt the Lakers have any intention of using that. There is really nobody to get with $1.8 short of someone taking a massive paycut.

Not sure if Blake brings more to our PG position to Miller bringing good shooting. I think I would have prefer Miller because he keeps defense honest, gives us a good 3rd or 4th option. Instead we will have to live with Artest and Lamar shooting bricks yet again. Miller would have made life a lot easier plus he plays hard nose defense. Oh well, we don't know the story, maybe Miller didn't really want to come here.

I like what we did, just shows that it only happens once that the Lakers want you and not the other way around so when its your opportunity you better sign that dotted line asap.

It should feel like a privilege to play on this team and wear that jersey even for a pro baller.

I bet Miller is waiting for the big 3 FA signing to be done, if Mia does end up getting james/bosh I can see a team with remaining cap room OVER pay him or even if Mia just gets Bosh they're gona need a solid 3 like Miller and I can see like 8-9mill contract offered to him, so I guess all that BS bout winning over money was obviously a bunch of balony with this guy.

Clippers, Miller have 3-hour meeting

http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/n ... id=5353008

LOS ANGELES -- One day after making their pitch to LeBron James in Cleveland, the Los Angeles Clippers had a three-hour meeting with free-agent forward Mike Miller on Saturday afternoon.

No offer was made, according to general manager Neil Olshey, but a "conceptual framework" was discussed and both sides are said to be very interested in each other.

"The meeting with LeBron went really well, but this is like the recruiting period in college," Olshey said. "You don't just recruit one guy. The players are doing the same thing. They understand what's going on. Mike wants to be patient right now too.

"There's going to be a very competitive market for Mike and we're in that market."

Miller averaged 10.9 points a game on 50 percent shooting from the field, including 48 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. He also contributed 3.9 assists a game in 54 games with the Washington Wizards.

Earlier in the week, Miller had initial conversations with the Los Angeles Lakers, but because of salary cap restrictions, they could not reach Miller's asking price.

Miller is seeking a multiyear contract above the mid-level exception valued at $5.8 million a year for up to five seasons.

We kinda ball-blocked Miller. It's a shame....we really didn't give him much of an opportunity to decide.

Does anyone know what the latest on Mike Miller is?.....I'm assuming because we got Steve Blake we are not going to be able to afford him now, but has there been anymore talk on us still acquiring him? If not could Raja Bell still be a realistic option????
