Boozer won't show up to play? Get the hell out of here! When healthy, Boozer always shows up to play. He's not the best defender, but his scoring and rebound numbers are always respectable. I'd consider him a major upgrade over Gibson. Also, it's not like a better free agent will be on the market next year. Carmelo is NOT coming to the Bulls, so Boozer is the best we can do.

No, but he has missed approx 140 games in the last 6 seasons. Which was fish's point.

I have no idea. I can't even come up with a good plan B at this point.

Boozer didnt average 19.5 ppg and 11 rpg by accident

No, he did it because he wanted a contract.

In his two previous contract years:
75GP 15.5p 11.5r
78GP 19.5p 11.2r

In the two years after his last contract signing
51 GP 17.8p 9.0r
33 GP 16.3p 8.6r

Coincidence?

I get that and if we go with Lee, I'm fine. I'm just so sick and tired of hearing the word overpaying but it's going to happen. It's just the way it goes. I'd rather overpay Boozer than overpay a Haslem.

What were the PERs there?

In the past 5 years, 4 seasons over 21 PER, that's astounding. The one below was injury year - 37 games and 17.3 PER. Career PER over 20.

Boozer's injuries worry me, one reason I prefer Lee, but as a player Boozer is quite good.

Exaggerate much? So the Jazz are a smart organization. Why are they considering re-signing him if he "doesn't show up"?

Lee is a safer sign than Boozer. I don't trust Boozer to play hard for five years.
Lee is also a good compliment to Noah.

Plan B is we likely do nothing. If we can get some cheap contracts, great but other than that we can't overpay for who is left.

We go into another temporarily rebuild.

We can't overpay for contracts that will haunt us for 5 or 6 years especially with the contract rule changes coming. Then we just wait this out, resign Noah, get a few more lottery picks, and try again in the future.

That is the only plausible Plan B I have.

I am just speechless on what has been going on though. We were looking at one point to be a very dominant team and now we could be stuck in a situation where we are doomed for the next 5 to 8 years when any free agent could see that going to Chicago makes them a contender.

I don't believe Lebron is going to Miami, almost 90% sure on it the way rumors have been spreading, and the look on Bosh/Wade's faces, I don't agree with the New York thing after multiple sources said he is down to New Jersey, Chicago, or Cleveland. I still think Lebron to Cleveland, add a PF such as David Lee is the best team in the NBA, but if he does anything tomorrow, I have confidence in that it will be with Cleveland or Chicago.

Chicago is struggling to reel in a hip hop super star and you think the city of Utah will ever get one?

Jazz = Draft franchise. No free agents sign to play

Lee has never played in the playoffs, so how is he a safer bet than Boozer? Boozer will be happy just to get away from the Lakers. His playoff experience could be huge for the Bulls.

Boozer is a better player than Lee. Lee's stats are D'antoni-ized and I don't think his "scrappy hustle" fits nearly as well in the front-court with Noah as Boozer would.

I want to sign Boozer TODAY in the hopes that for whatever reason LBJ comes to his senses and realizes that this team is his signature away from championship level.

All that said, my gut says we are massively f'd.

So cheap contracts and not overpaying is better than aquiring a very good PF and good SG like Ray Allen?

Ask the average Bulls fans if they want a 55 win team who can compete or more 40 win, 8th seed seasons while we wait and wait and wait for something to fall in our lap.

Oh that's right, something did fall in our lap. Derrick Rose. We owe it to him to sign the best players we can and try to win as much as possible.

Say what? How did Boozer end up in Utah? Free Agent.
How did Okur end up in Utah? Free Agent.
How did Harpring end up in Utah? Free Agent.
