I have no problem with signing useful players to decent contracts. It gives you assets. I just hate all of the bad contracts that we get stuck with.

For all of you people saying "what the hell is BC thinking....has he gone mad"? What are you thinking? Of course BC was going to continue to attempt to improve the roster. I'm not surprised. Not sure whay anyone else should be.

This is it, the Kleiza signing is a decent signing. For a competitive team it makes more sense but for a rebuilding one it doesn't hurt either. The problem is Hedo and Jose's contracts right now, but we've been in rebuild mode for 3 weeks tops now that Bosh is gone, it doesn't happen over night and the contract is not so bad that it couldn't be moved for assets to a contender at some point and get a pick or something back.

Who knows, might be just as Blair of Globe & Mail has suggested, it could very well be BC might be the one who wanted to trade Bosh earlier but MLSE said NO. We will never know the truth though probably. I do trust BC's ability over many realgm haters anytime of the day.

I really like his direction right now. We need to establish a culture & form an identity of a team that plays hard & plays the right way. The more competive/ hard nose players we have on the roster, the more the softer (or motivationally deficient) players will be influenced to step up their games.

Looks like BC has finally turned the corner.

It's just too bad it took him losing Bosh to finally see what type of players he should be surrounding the likes of Bosh and Bargs with.

I gotta say, if BC is able to move at least one of Jose or Turk, Bargs will have his best opportunity to shine as he will have teamates around him who cover up his weaknesses.

+1 Screw some of the BC haters. BC is not dumb, you knew that he will do whatever he can to become a winning team, it takes time and now Barg is now the man we'll see what he can do.

In BC we trust

Would of been perfect two seasons ago, but right now...I dunno. If we can move Turk, then it all makes sense.

I haven't seen this guy play in a looong time, so whatever. I still think BC is chasing that 8th seed or 13th pick again, regardless of this signing. He's under too much pressure to produce a competitive team now, and history shows he never commits to a rebuild anyway.

Amir at a 3rd of the price of Bosh isn't that bad either

Role with a team instead of one player

Getting Kleiza at a little under 5 mil a year is better value than Amir Johnson at just under 7 mil a year.

I think we should all just be happy than BC finally got a guy at a decent value.

I think the Amir Johnson contract is too much for a PF that we are HOPING turns out to be a good 12 and 10 player. Also, Kleiza is not the type of player we need. He's a streaky scorer. We need a Center. We need to get rid of Turk and Caldy. That should be our priority. If this is BC's best signing of the summer I'm sure most of Raptor Land will not be happy.

I think Denver matches personally.

If this offer was made on the 1st would Denver have had to match by now? Or do they have a week from the moment the contract is signed, which couldn't have been before July 8th.

Makes me wonder why he went in exactly the opposite direction with his big moves. This is what's been so frustrating over the past few seasons. He does well in the area which has least importance. You can sign all the great role players in the world, it's still not going to amount to much without a great starter(s). Every huge deal, trade or coaching decision has been disastrous on some level.

Kleiza always seemed a bit too much of a PF/SF tweener for me but I guess BC thinks he can play more at the SF spot. I prefer Mike Miller, but oh well

Today was the first day that any offer sheets could be signed. Denver has 7 days to match if they choose.

How's tanking working for Minnesota and the Clippers and many other teams? Tanking by definition is to just suck hoping for a top pick and landing a franchise player but there's no guarantee that happens.

If you're talking about rebuilding? Sure, I think everyone on this board will agree it's time and that's what we're doing, Kleiza signing doesn't affect that.

So we're rebuilding by signing players to 4-5 year deals at around the MLE, then in a few years we will package them to land... a franchise player???

Here's some numbers that I've totally made up, but are here to convey my opinions about rebuilding.

YOUR rebuilding (aka anti-tanking) = 70% chance treadmill team, 15% chance Championship contender, 15% chance LA Clippers

MY rebuilding (aka Tanking) = 33% chance treadmill team, 33% chance Championship contender, 33% chance LA Clippers

I have a preference for being a championship contender, and I am willing to suffer the fate of the Clippers... while others may be content being first round virgins every year.

I don't know how this has been over looked. We haven't had a solid player at the 5 in forever.

I hope this is the second coming of Jack from the Pacers last season. I hope the Nuggets don't match, and he turns into a beast mode of kapono, but with defense.
