Kleiza is a solid player. He played college ball and was a good player for the nuggets. Lots of athleticism too and can throw down a monster dunk and shoot the three. Its just the fact that he's Lithuanian than some people might label him as a soft Euro.

I really don't think he should be our starting 3, whether we get rid of Turk or not. He should be a 3/4 type that is looked upon to provide offense off the bench. I would rather start Weems ahead of him as he brings some D and can cover quick players.

While I agree he has doled out his fair share of bad contracts, a 4 year 18.8M dollar contract for a guy of Kleiza's skill level does not fall into this category. But keep on keepin on with the pigeonholing.

I'm fine with this. We really underestimate the need for scrappy, tough guys. Yes, he lacks lateral quicks and will probably get blown by which will make everyone on here throw a hissy fit. But he will more than make up for it with his high BB IQ which doesn't show up in the box score.

He actually doesn't have the highest BB IQ. He makes alot of mistakes on the basketball court. Good signing for the price though.

I can go with this if we move Hedu other wise 4/$19M for a back-up 3 is crazy. He is not as good as wright in my opinion and we could have had him for less I believe.

LK can shoot the three balls well, play some tough D against slower big 3s. We have young PF we need to give time to so he has to be a 3.

Question is would Mike B from Miami been better at the 3? Can we get something for Hedo? Not sure on the length of contract but he is young 25.

he still has jose, turk, and bargs potential in the starting 5 so getting rid of them should be a priority after the whole bosh s&t saga plays out

I agree. I think also that BC seems to lean towards signing players that you know what you're going to get. That means their limitations are also well known. This board tends to expect signings where the heavy weight of "upside" or "potential" is attached. Lots of "ifs" and "maybes"; usually most don't pan out. I find it funny that the name of Dorrell Wright hasn't been front and centre in any threads on dealing with Miami. Many here were going crazy for his "potential" for years. I'd rather have Kleiza. I think the price BC shells out for known quantities is often excessive (eg Kapono; maybe Amir) but I think KL is the at right value.

I'd like to point out that Kleiza actually took less money to sign with Toronto. He was slated to make around 6 million next season. It's refreshing when players WANT to be in Toronto. Crossing my fingers that Denver doesn't match.
