Guys, we

Post#1 » by magicfan4life05 » Fri Jul 9, 2010 1:44 am

I really think this deserves its own thread and hope mods will allow it:

I AM NOT COMPLAINING..PROPS TO THE HEAT FOR GETTING THIS DONE…

with that said...THIS WAS PLANNED A LONG TIME AGO !!!

1) Exhibit A

Bill Simmons column:

Please read paragraphs 1 thru 8...its too long to post here...but heres first paragraph:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... ons/100708

1. A few weeks after the 2008 Summer Olympics, Someone Who Knows Things told me the following rumor: LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Chris Paul became such good friends during the 2007 Olympic trials, and then during their 2008 Olympics excursion in Beijing, that they actually made a pact in China to play together. You know, like one of those pacts in a chick flick where two friends agree to get married if both of them are single when they turn 40.

As the rumor went, the 2010 free agents (LeBron, Wade and Bosh) would sign with the same team (at that point the Knicks if they created enough cap room), then Paul would join them in 2012 (or sooner). I thought this was the craziest thing I had ever heard -- so crazy, I only mentioned it once (in a November '08 column). It reminded me of being in my mid-20s in Las Vegas, gambling in the wee hours with my single high school buddies, then all of us drunkenly saying, "We should all pick one city and live there, we'd just go out and kill it every night!" Then you wake up the next morning and forget it was ever discussed. So even if the China rumor was true, that didn't mean it was actually going to happen. Or so I thought.

2) Exhibit B: Dan Lebatard quote

I got this from realcavs forum earlier today:

http://www.realcavsfans.com/showthread. ... 29&page=41

Dan LeBatard dropping a bombshell on WKNR (local radio in cleveland) right now...

Saying basically that these 3 guys had agreed a month ago to play together in Miami, that tampering no doubt took place, and the only way to make it less obvious was that Wade was doing Riley's dirty work for him. However, the entire free agency process was a total charade, and no other teams but Miami (and Cleveland for LBJ) were ever really in play.

3) Exhibit C Sam Amico (Cavs writer)

http://theclevelandfan.com/index.php?op ... e&Itemid=5

According to the source, the three stars had planned for thefree-agent drama to unfold exactly as it has -- with Bosh and Wade announcing their plans on Wednesday afternoon, and James following by making his own intentions known on a television program Thursday evening. Once the plans were finalized, LeBron's marketing team arranged for the show, which will be broadcast on ESPN tonight at 9.

4) Exhibit D: Random FA notes

Does anyone remember when Bosh posted this:

Image

"It feels like someone is missing"

THEY HAVE BEEN TEASING US AND PLAYING THE MEDIA THE ENTIRE TIME

THEY ALL KNEW THIS AND PLANNED THIS

They did it to avoid tampering or even the slightest suspicion of it

5) Exhibit E: Anyone remember that Wade tweet about starting a site called "what little do they know"

He did this during the rumors of him going to the Bulls after the 2nd interview:

http://twitter.com/dwadeofficial/status/17601845613

Imma start a website called What little do they know.com..l2ms

and finally...

6) Exhibit F: Also the quote from a Riley staff member "The media has no idea whats going on"

http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2010-0 ... -process/2

In the current vacuum, it is the background chatter that has drawn the focus, with one member of Riley's staff insisting, "The media has no idea what's going on."

Do you guys agree with me or Am I crazy ???
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Actually LeBron pretty much admitted in when Gray asked if they had planned it. LeBron totally froze and gave a half answer. It was clear that this whole thing was staged.

We knew this. We knew this from Wade's camp from Day 1.

This is nothing "surprising" you can see this from the draft-day move of Miami clearing more cap room.

I just feel very, very bad for Cleveland.
Irony
Step 1: Hate the Lakers
Step 2: Watch LeBron go to Miami
Step 3: Call Heat fans, "bandwagoners"
Step 4: Root for Lakers, Hate the Heat
Step 5: Refused to be classified as Laker "bandwagoner" since Heat formed.

It probably was.

So what? There isn't anything in the CBA about players talk among themselves while under contract, is there?

Agreed. They are a bunch of close friends who decided this long ago and played everyone.

I dont feel bad for the media. They bent over and said "put it in! put it in! plllzzz!"

Only a person with his head buried in the sand couldn't see this whole thing was staged.

So what if there was tampering. The NBA won't do anything about it.

Of course we were duped. Stern, LeBron, Wade and Bosh have been in on this from the beginning. You think it's a coincidence that the 3 top 10 players in the worst situation magically ended up in the same place playing for a large market team in a city that until now could care less about basketball?

Of course it was planned, otherwise, Wade & Bosh wouldn't have chosen Miami over Chicago. I mean seriously, Miami has absolutely no depth whatsoever to offer so unless you know that LeBron is coming, you wouldn't sign there.

Not to mention Lebron changing from #23 (retired in Miami) to #6.

Was pretty clear it was planned even without knowing all of that stuff, but that pretty much confirms it. Not like it'll matter though. Heat fans / bandwagoners will spout off internet memes at you while Stern counts $$$
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

didn't think about this until you mentioned it.

It was staged

Man I'm am really rooting for this team to fail now.

The question is though, is that why was Pat Riley in on it while another team (say Knicks) were not? Knicks could have used Gallo and Chandler to get rid of curry.

LBJ was in that chair in that dinner, pretty sure about it.
