Ouch, Sharks just signed Niklas Hjalmarsson to a 4 year 14 million dollar offer sheet. I really don't see how the Blackhawks can match this.

No doubt. The Blackhawks are in salary cap hell right now.

You know if the Blackhawks didn't win the Stanley Cup last season, I'd be calling the suicide hotline right now. The Stanley Cup makes everything feel better.

Kovalchuk visiting the Kings. Really, is there any doubt he's gonna stay there?

Shows what i know. What does this mean for Niemi than? Or other FAs they may pursue. I didnt think they had the cap space to pay this much to one guy

It means bye-bye to Niemi, most likely. Unless they trade Sharp.

This was the right move. A goalie can only be as good as the defense in front of him. The Hawks still have four very, very good ones.

Surely you mean bye-bye Huet.

Trade Sharp to dump cap
Bury Huet in the minors

Huet will probably go the minors regardless and Sharp is more important than Niemi, in my mind.

Hammer is more important than Niemi so it was the right move. I'm fine with letting Niemi go. I appreciate what he did for us last season but I don't think he's as good as he's about to get paid. It sucks but it was the right move.

Looks like the Hawks are trying to package Campbell with any Sharp trade.

The Wild get way too attached to their own players who lead them nowhere which is why they always suck.

Sigh. It would be nice to have a good hockey team to be able to watch about 20-30 times a year.
