Whitcaps new logo... Personally I hate it.

I would of been a lot happier with this.

and the cap space begats no one. but for sure we are looking at 1 or 2 players still.

not sure why de guzman went into the meley like that. Nana could more than hold his own. and now our dp is suspended. (not sure if he is suspended 1 for the red and another 1 for the accumulation of yellows)

Faced with a shortage of goal-scoring and an abundance of games over the next month, Toronto FC has for the second time this week signed a striker.

The Major League Soccer club announced Friday that Brazilian Maicon Santos has joined the Reds and will be available for Saturday’s game against the Colorado Rapids (noon, CBC) at BMO Field.

“I’m so excited to start to play with Toronto,” the 26-year-old said following a rain-soaked practice at Cherry Beach. “It’s going to be good.”

He apparently had an okay second half when he came in but got winded.

1-0 TFC. Much needed win.

Maicon Santos looked good yesterday.

Worked well upfront and looked to score right away. When he is more accustomed to our system he will really shine I think.

Hopefully that will help to fill the stadium in New Jersey.

This is terrible news for TFC fans. He still has something left and New York is one of the teams we are competing with to make the playoffs.

What a heartbreaking loss this weekend.

I'm very jealous of the stadium in Philly, it looked amazing.

Well, they signed two designated players already. One big Canadian name and one guy from spain who I had never heard of, but that apparantly had great sucess a couple years ago.

I don't think Preki wants a big name who would overshadow his team concept.

Headed downwards?... TFC is having their best season yet and a win tonight may have them well on their way to international success.

I agree, but we need to win by more than 1 in my opinion.

Yep, definitely need that cushion for the 2nd leg. We've generated some nice chances so far, just can't bag that 2nd.

Think one goal will be enough?

We looked like the much better team in the first half but gave up a few chances in the second. I would of liked to win by at least two, I worry about going into an away game with only a 1 goal lead.

We had three good chances in the 2nd half and did not even hit the net once. De Guzman does not know how to shoot the ball. We did well in the 1st 20 minutes of the 2nd half and then they started playing well. They should have scored with 5 minutes left but messed up the tap-in. I am scared one goal will not be enough. O'Brien White is not going to work out in my opinion. He is too slow.

The good news is we did better than Los Angelas. They lost 4-1 at home to Puerto Rico.
