I'm not saying do a trade just to do a trade, you want it to be a good trade that makes us better. I was just saying, letting the contract expire is worse than using it, as it would become worthless, and it doesnt create space to sign anyone.

I would take him, but we've got to put him at PG.

Plus, I think we need to make a Move for David West if this goes down.

Gil is a bigger and better version of Jameer Nelson....jameer would make for a great sixth man though....

PG Arenas, Nelson, Duhon
SG Redick, Arenas, Q Rich
SF Pietrus, Q Rich, Lewis, Robinson
PF Lewis, Bass, Anderson
C Howard, Gortat, Orton

....there's our 13 man roster. Do it Otis. That team would dominate.

why would jameer be our 6th man with arenas playing 35 minutes a night? we'd be better off flipping jameer for someone else while his value is sky high. someone like prince. arenas dominates the ball so much that him and dwight would be getting like 35-40 shots a game.

arenas/duhon
jj/pietrus
prince/q-rich
shard/bass
dwight gortat

jj & prince can both play within the flow of the offense while not needing many shots to be productive. thus allowing arenas, dwight and shard to go crazy on offense.

*IF* Arenas is obtained for Carter, do you keep Jameer Nelson? Honestly, I think not. I can't imagine that being a good idea. You don't pay Duhon what you just paid him to sit on the bench and an Arenas / Nelson combo isn't an ideal basketball fit.

So you trade Jameer for a SF... if you can get one that's worth Jameer. And if you can do that, then you *THINK* about pulling the trade for Arenas, but only once you have that lined up.

Unrelated to basketball, but I found an article from 2006 about Gil's personal life. It was a pretty intriguing read. He went through a lot as a young kid.

Why you guys think Jameer and Arenas (if he does indeed get traded here) can't work together? Arenas is bigger and longer than JJ, I'm sure he can handle playing SG.

When i read the title of the post, i assumed that he would play the 2,virtually replacing carter in the lineup.

We are not taking Arenas with his 80M for 4 years contract. Otis has nothing to do with such decision by the way - owner will never allow that BS to happend. I can see that Washington is doing everything they can to make out an impression that there is some market for Gill out there when there is NONE i just don't understand why people continue to discuss it here. The chances of Wash to trade Arenas for VC are the same as our chances to trade VC for CP3 straight up.

I've come to the conclusion that any rumor about the Magic is BS. Otis holds his cards tight. None of these "sources" have any clue what he's up to.

Watch. VC will get traded this month for someone that wasn't even in our radar.

anyone who has Nelson as backup is pretty clueless
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

well, it isnt necessarily Otis. He has to be talking to someone on their side, and he cant help it if someone there gets loose lips.

Not as clueless as anyone who thinks Gilbert and Jameer should be starting together.

Agent Zero as a SG is a recipe for disaster.

I wasn't really taking a shot at you (unless you think we should start Gil at the 2 or bring him off the bench), just responding in generalities.
