Do you know what Kidd's record in Olympic games is? He isn't what he used to be, but they win when he plays.

did you not see how much better the team ran under Paul?

Well he plays PG, obviously. But he isn't a true PG imo. He is better off playing with an Eric Snow type PG and sliding to the 2. Just like Iverson in Philly.

So you think the Bulls should run a Snow (or similar 'true' point guard, aka a short guy that can't score)-Rose backcourt, and it will have better results than Rose-actual shooting guard backcourt?

I love the term 'true point guard'. Its hilarious. Guys like Chris Duhon get propped up and given more credit than they ever should. Ask the Knicks what they thought of their 'true point guard'. In the case of someone not named Paul-Williams-Nash, a true point guard is basically someone that can't score. And apparently thats a positive.

He's a worse scorer AND a worse distributor than Arenas imo. both equally mediocre defenders. dont see how Rose could possibly be a better player than Gilbert

Hmm, idk. You make a compelling argument. Kidd is quite the loser on Team USA. His record...it must be pretty bad.

Anyways, I'm still going to side with Coach K over Realgm junior DanielBoone. Don't take it personally.

I somehow feel that if Rose averaged 8 assists he'd magically become a "true point guard" overnight.

What's this obsession with point guards needing to average a ton of assists? The Bulls had multiple play-makers last season. Rose didn't need to set people up all game; instead, he played a role he was asked to play (1st option scorer) and did it marvelously. Billups has never averaged a ton of assists in a season, but he's a great floor general. Rose does the same thing, though not as well.

Eric Snow was 6'3, which is big for a PG and he could handle guarding shooting guards. Im sorry but Rose is a homeless man's Iverson. Undersized SG that can score in bunches but can't defend. He will never be a true PG in this league.

My question comes with the reference to low IQ, what is your argument concerning this? And what is an Eric Snow type PG, because whatever it is, I don't want my bulls to acquire one...like ever. ERIC SNOW-are you serious!!!!????

21 year old 2nd year all star that led his team to the playoffs. Seriously, I can't tell if you're trolling or not. "Homeless man's Iverson"?

Right on. He can only dream of being in the realm of the Chris Duhons and Jose Calderons and Eric Snows of the nba.

Was Tony Parker a "true PG"? A great defender? I seem to recall him winning a Finals MVP. Rose can do everything he can do, as well as having vastly greater physical tools and size for his position.

An Eric Snow PG is a tall physical PG that can handle guarding shooting guards in order to make sure Rose doesn't get stuck guarding guys like Wade, Joe Johnson, etc.

negative 100% Derrick Rose=Allen Iverson

that Eric Snow argument made my week, and its only Monday! LOOOOOOOOOOLLOOOOL Eric Snow! I have never heard anyone use an Eric Snow analogy for a good player in the league...I wonder why

I was actually being generous comparing Rose to Iverson. As bad as Iverson was on defense, he is still a better defender than Rose

Rose was 12th in the league in assists with no offense behind him.

Now that the Bulls have replaced their iso players (Salmons, Pargo) and their 2nd PG that started (Hinrich) with players that actually finish passes with buckets (Brewer, Korver, Boozer), Rose is a near lock to average 7-7.5 assists this year. If not more. 7.5 would put him at 9th in the league.

When that happens will haters still be saying he's not a real PG?

Now logically speaking: would you ever want your point guard defending a 6/5,6/6 shooting guard?

Whats the apg cutoff to reach 'true point guard' status. Or can your ppg not go above a certain number? Is Sebastian Telfair a 'true pg'? Because his apg to ppg ratio is WAAAY better than Rose's. And by better I mean a smaller ratio.

I'm curious. Fill me in on a 'true pg'? Is defense involved? Its being used in this whole Eric Snow argument. What exactly is Jose Calderon? A 'slightly true pg' because he can't play d?

Now, I believe your just saying things to spark debate that makes ZERO sense. Good Job.

Playing him at point guard is also quite a good way to avoid that.
