Can you imagine this team with a healthy Greg Oden? Dominance on the boards and in the paint with offense. Wes and Rose on the break and consistently hitting the deep ball if the reports about Rose jumpshot is legit. The upside on this team would be through the roof and with a healthy Oden, this team would be insane. Afflalo would have been a perfect fit at shooting guard. Now I'm trying to decide where I want to go with my shooting guard.
Does anyone know of a way to contact Smoke24? I don't see his contact info in the topic.
Hey nothing against your GM'ing or roster (cuz I actually like your team) but I'm just throwing this out to prove a point here. I have rival GMs threatening to judge my team on a lower scale because I have Rubio as a starter. Yet in the zany minds of these same posters dudes were applauding your pick of Wes Johnson and where he's slotted to start. Now in what world is Johnson more "proven" than Rubio? He hasn't played against grown men since the age of 14 and he did compete against the very best the NBA has to offer as an olympian. No disrespect, it's just funny to me the H8 my roster is garnering when I obviously should have a Top 3 team regardless of if Yao fully recovers or not. Even with Yao on bad wheels and Rubio being a rookie my squad matches up with anyones.
I don't even know what you team is. Mind telling me? Haha. As for why my Wes Johnson pick is getting love its because the type of player he is. Things that you know about him so far and it doesn't matter if he played in the NBA yet or not are this. He can shoot the ball, he's extremely athletic, he plays defense, and he hustle. So at worst if he isn't the scorer I expect him to be, I can still expect him to crash the boards, play defense, and shoot the ball. That is something that is constant and has nothing to do with the competition he goes against.
As for Rubio, I personally think the guy sucks. Haha. No disrespect, but I never thought the kid was that good of a player. I'm just being honest. I've watched him play a few times, not often, and I don't see the great thing about him. All of this garbage about this and that International player playing professional basketball is junk to me. If the competition was so good overseas, why aren't there more people going overseas? Why are most of the top picks college players and maybe 1 or 2 top picks are from overseas? I just don't buy the whole "he was playing professional since he was this age so he's good" argument.
I forgot to mention that you're not going to get many fans by picking Rubio. Reasons being that majority of this board would sell their own flesh and blood to have the guy on this team and being that Khan doesn't want to give him up, they all turned against him and try to pretend he's garbage. If an article comes out today about Rubio wanting to be a Knick, you will be surprised by how many people do a 180 and pretend like this guy is the greatest thing since Gallinari.
