Predict the Wizards record in 2010-2011

eyeballing it, we're sitting at roughly an average of 35 wins? less 19 has us on pace for a 16ish win season? i'm glad i made that bold 50 to up the average a smidge. WHO WANTS SOME KOOLAID

Next season the '96 Bulls' record will be shattered by the Washington Wizards' 76-6 season.

The Washington Wizards will grab the first seed of the east and will go undefeated in the playoffs for two straight seasons, thus fulfilling their goal of a repeat.

The Big Three of John Wall, Gilbert Arenas, and Javale McGee will become the first active players in NBA history to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in the Summer of 2012.

They will each retire after the repeat and pay workers to build the world's strongest fallout shelter.

They will then reside there until December 22, 2012, the day after Armageddon. At that time, they would be the only creatures to have survived Armageddon and would then begin to start raiding stores, hosting slumber parties, and having the most fun of their young lives..

40-42 as of right now. I knocked it down a few wins b/c of the recent 4-team trade which really helped Indy & NJ. So it's definitely subject to change.

I truly think the backcourt will be all world but McGee as our only reliable (and I used the term 'reliable' very loosely) center gives me great concern. If Yi lives up to his legendary workouts then we might be able to survive if Blatche isn't ready at the start.

Unless injuries wreck our season again or we dump Gil for trash, I'd be shocked if were not at least competitive. The bottom with this roster is about 35 wins IMO. The ceiling would be 45 to 48 wins.

Dat, your reasoning is pretty much the same as mine. Realistically, 40 wins. I just decided to throw out logic.

Flip's usually around 48 wins. Luck has definitely changed for the Wizards. Wall is a leader. Gil is very motivated. Yi is going to be way better this season. Howard in a contract year. Hinrich bringing defense. Blatche rehabbing and proving it was no fluke.

I decided to go with the best (forget my dopey Everclear post) possible scenario. For whatever reason I think this team will be really good.

With injuries (to Wall especially, knock on wood) we could do worse--if everything goes right, we could win 35.

Also, I think the 8th seed in the east wins 40 games this year and we are never in the race for the eighth seed.

I would put the range at 25-39 games, with a pick of 34 games. I think they're a year away from gelling, even if all of our "potentials" start to show promise. Far more likely though is Nick Young is who we thought he was, and McGee still jumps up in the air whenever anyone enters the paint.

Most of the improvement comes from an upgrade in individual talent on the floor, chiefly a full year of Gil and adding Wall. But I see a lot of growing pains as the individuals try (and often fail) to play as a team, especially on defense.

This will be a season where the potential is tantalizing, but ultimately we don't get to taste it just yet.

I would be interested to see what this process would have projected for the Wizards 2009 team. I would not be surprised if it predicted the Nets horrible season, but last season the Wizards had a lot of players who were at least competent in past seasons.

I'm a big supporter of advanced stats & such but I absolutely think its pure idiocy to form concrete opinions solely off of stats. Stats only have value when given context & used in coordination with actual cognitive basketball analysis. These same stats would have said Kevin Durant is a loser & kills his team on the court prior to last year. And some stat geeks bought into that b/c the only paid attention to what the advanced stats said. Of course they look like total fools now.

I suspect that blogger will look like a total fool by the end of the NBA season.

We've all argued to Cousins vs. Wall thing to death. I thought that had been put to rest during the VSL, I guess not.
