fatlever wrote:OK, i created a league on yahoo. i really couldnt find a league system that i loved. espn, sky sports and the official epl site have similar leagues with similar scoring. but their scoring is so limited and basic, just goals, assists and clean sheets. that gets boring. yahoo has tons of scoring categories, but their league allows you to make unlimited transfers during the year. i wish i could combine the two types, yahoos scoring + espn other rules.
anyway, i went with yahoo. here is the league.

I'm in, but I don't really like those kind of managers.
I'd rather play something like this.
http://www.pl-manager.co.uk/?language=en_US
http://www.pl-manager.co.uk/demo.phtml
It's pretty much like those yahoo basketball or football games, but you get a couple of players(purely on luck and not all of them are good) and 20 mil english pounds to buy some others on the transfer market. You can also sell your players as well.
The good thing about it is, that no teams are identical, because the players are only there ones and can only change managers on transfer.
BTW: Real Madrid just oficially made a bit for Mesut Oezil, but Werder Bremen turned it down. Bremen wants at least 15 million euros for Oezil and Real most likely didn't offer anything close to it.
Still, there's 17 days left in the transfer window and Murinho wants Oezil as a replacement for Kaka, who's injured and will miss at least 4 months.

Re: OT: soccer thread
I don´t know why they are pursuing Ozil,I mean he is good but they have just signed Canales who is 6 years younger and has been playing well,if they don´t give a chance to their younger players they´ll stuck hiring players every year instead of letting them develop.I hope they don´t trade for Ozil.
And my dear Valencia is suffering the loss of Villa more than I thought,we are having serious problems to score, however I hope its just a matter of time till we play better to grab a champions league seed this year.

on watching this man city vs tottenham on dvr. tottenham is all over man city in the first 15. hart already has 3 incredible saves. i really love watching tottenham. they are fun. bale and lennon are fantastic on the wings.

Re: OT: soccer thread
not fair. i want fox soccer plus.
chelsea 6 west brom 0 - ho hum. just like last year. feasting on the minnows. drogba with a hat trick in the first game. i guess he really was worth 20 mil in the yahoo fantasy league. i just couldnt justify spending 20% of my budget on one player. stupid me.

Re: OT: soccer thread
The season in Germany starts this WE as well, with the first round of the German Cup.
We've had one of the toughest draws with Erzgebirge Aue of the 2nd Bundesliga, but managed to win 3-1.
Goals have been scored by Michael Bradley, Mo Idrissou(Cameroon International) and Marco Reus(he's a 21 year old winger that has already been called up twice for the German NT).
The only big surprises so far(only half of the games are played at this point) have been Chemnitz(4th division) beating St. Pauli(Bundesliga) 1-0 and Elversberg(4th division) beating Hannover(Bundesliga) on penalties.

BTW: Blackpool won 4-0 at Wigan.
Sure, Wigan isn't all that great, but Blackpool is a team of nobodies that pretty much no one is given a chance to survive in the Premier League...

The "best one" should be Werder Bremen vs. Sampdoria Genua.
The interesting part should be Mesut Oezil playing or not. If he does not play, then he'll probably sign with Real Madrid very soon and if he does play, then he'll probably stay in Bremen for this upcoming season.
Edit:
Just as a I wrote it, Kicker(pretty serious and huge soccer mag from Germany) has the news of Oezil signing with Real Madrid.
Oezil signs with Real

Re: OT: soccer thread
joe cole, red card in his first liverpool game. suspended for 3 games. i guess he is getting cut from my fantasy team.
can we fire bob bradley already or give him an extension. this limbo crap is bs.
still no place to play for adu, beasley, demerit and jozy?
the neymar to chelsea saga is ridiculous. move on already. let the kid stay in brazil. he isnt worth that kind of money... at least, not yet.
where does van der vaar end up now that real has ozil?
