I believe MIN gives up $7.6 mil of its cap space and Brewer to get back the pick, which is $15 mil savings for DEN .. quite possibly worth more than the pick.

We don't "give up" anything. We get two players with net positive value in return.

+1. They have positive value after factoring in their contracts. We could easily flip them for picks, in which case the trade is Brewer + player we don't want for three picks.

As for the trade, I probably wouldn't do it, mostly because I want to see another year out of Brewer, but it does seem like fair value in return for us. Denver obviously gets screwed by Carmello forcing his way out, and the Clips make out good.

Is it that inconceivable? Even if Rubio comes over then, he will need some time to gel with the team. Additionally, we don't have a surefire good-to-great player -- just a lot of young players who we hope will pan out. Love is currently our best player, and IMO, if he is still our clearcut best player at the end of the year, it's really possible for us to stay bottom 10 in the subsequent year.

It's definitely not inconceivable. I find it disturbing that so many realgm Wolves fans expect that we are going to suck a season from now to the point where we need to insure against our suck-itude by getting our 2012 pick back.

I'm tired of us losing and sending off anyone we've spent anytime developing for the next hot shot or misplaced / underused kid with some potential. At some point us fans need to demand some sort of performance on the court. When Kahn was hired, his goal was to be competing for a playoff spot by his third year. This is very difficult when he decides to turn 80% of the roster over every year.

That's a lot of ink coming our way... IMO we should avoid JR Smith at all costs. Aside from the recent issues, he would never be happy in Minny at this stage of his career.

gotta love Uncle Ricky lurking in the background. Any way we can dig him off the scrap heap, I'd rather have him than Smith.
