I dunno, I kinda like championships :-)

Again, it's always, always, ALWAYS about fit. If that flair can be harnessed it can be an absolute asset. Loved Iverson on the 76ers but didn't want him anywhere near this team.

Political correct my ass. I want to build a TEAM that will WIN! This team did not have that culture built in nor is it Walsh's style to build around a guy like that.

what part of leading your team to 4 titles and being the top player at the pf position all-time do you not understand?

i don't find winning boring.

The greatest player of all time had a great deal of showmanship in his game... Michael Jordan. Dunking over Dikembe and wagging the finger at him. The pose after the big shots. The trash talking. Etc etc. Showmanship doesn't mean you can't win...

Nope that is true and if you can back it up showmanship is acceptable. I do not think comparing anyone to Michael Jordan makes sense. He had rings, he was a winner. He could walk the walk and talk the talk.

As soon as young buck accomplishes something come see me.

Jordan also had the skillset to be the best at his position.Jennings does not.

yeah really can you win a title or two first and then do all that extraneous "entertaining" stuff? until then it's just clowning. most everything that jordan did in terms of entertainment he did AFTER he had won.

jordan also was a top defender at the position and was in superb physical condition even by nba standards.

Yeah but even in the 80's Jordan was trash talking all the time to all the big dogs. Even Larry Bird and Magic backed those facts up. I'm telling you a lot of the great ones have that personality.

No offense but you're probably a little older because I've always noticed that. The older guys are always more reserved and what not. Believe me I'm all for fundamental basketball but you don't have to suck the life out of the game.

Uhm, the game is played on the court, not behind the microphone. If Jennings wants to be heard, wants to get respected, wants to be part of team USA, wants to be an All Star, he needs to let his game talk not his mouth. Hes an entertainer, yes, but hes a BASKETBALL PLAYER, hes not in the WWE. You have to earn things in life, not cry about things when things dont go your way. I dont want a guy whos going to get animated and hyped and act all crazy after a big shot, yet still average 37% from the floor. If your a casual fan then I understand why you prefer that, however Im a die hard fan of the sport and my team and I know that all these antics that hes pulling is only the beginning for what appears is going to be a very problematic career for Mr. Jennings.

Look, there is a difference between a guy like Jordan who would stand up to the game's greats and a guy like Marbury who would announce to the world that he was the best. One shows poise... even cockiness and the other shows immaturity and posturing.

Jennings shows some signs of the first but also some signs of the latter and that is concerning. It really just is and you HAVE to consider what sort of culture you're brining a guy like that into.

Spree was a non-conformer but he arrived on a team with leaders like Ewing, Houston, LJ, and even JVG to keep him focused on the game.

Hate to say it but with guys like Harrington, Lee, and Duhon "leading" the team and with a laissez faire coach in MDA... it is a HUGE risk to bring in a bravado guy... not that any of them were bad guys but they just aren't real leaders to harness a young player with a strong independant streak. Look at how Nate behaved on the Celts vs. the Knicks, for example. Still emotional but they had guys that would take him aside if he got too out of control. Skiles does that on the Bucks. Who did that on the Knicks?

Theres a reason why the NBA is a lot more sucessful today than a few decades ago when the NBA finals werent even shown live, they were shown on tape delay. The reason why? Because of marketing. How many endorsements does Tim Duncan have? How many jerseys does he sell? He's boring, quiet, no personality, no connection with the fans.

Nate Robinson is consistently in the top 10 of jersey sales. Guys like him make the league better. Basketball is my life, but I don't like boring people, and I don't like boring players. If the NBA was filled with a bunch of Tim Duncans and no Nate Robinsons or Jennings', or Arenas', thered be a lot less revenue coming in. I love basketball, but like I said all sports are ENTERTAINMENT. I don't enjoy watching Chris Duhon slosh his way up the floor, making the uninspired pass, the uncreative play, etc etc.

You have posters on your wall of Shawn Kemp dunking over 4 defenders, not Chris Duhon making a chest pass..

Also, if you want flair... we have Randolph, Stat, Gallo, and Walker... maybe even Mozzy on the D. These guys are going to play some exciting ball.

But I want WINS first.

Why do you keep bringing up Tim Duncan? The NBA is full of different personalities, Duncan is just one person and one example, but do you know how many good players are in the NBA? How about Chris Paul? Dirk Norwitski? Steve Nash? Amare Stoudimire? These guys all have "pizzaz and swag" but dont come with the immaturity and arrogance. When it comes to sports franchises and big cities people are largely entertained by wins more than anything.

I'm bringing up Tim Duncan because I'm at work and I don't have time to think of all the other boring players in the league. And you don't have to like Nate's game, but he's an exciting player to watch with a big personality, a lot of heart, and can do extraordinary things that other people his height could not. Alot of children get inspired by him and hes an extremely popular player; you cant deny that.
