OT: Bulls Birthday Cake
My 5 year olds birthday is coming up in a few weeks, just in time for the start of the season, and he wants a Bulls birthday. I need ideas for a Bulls cake, and no cake like Derrick Rose's. I was thinking of the Bulls logo with the 6 trophies behind it, but I can't find that pic online to give to the person making the cake. If someone could find it for me that would be great. He likes Benny the Bull, plus I'm open to other ideas. As far as decorations go, I dont think Ill find any Bulls decorations in the Peoria area, so I'll probably just have to do red/white/black stuff, like balloons, table cloth, plates, cups, and napkins. Thanks for any replies!

if you've got time, check out sugarcraft.com - they have everything when it comes to cake decorating.
i've done this in the past: grabbed a plain sheetcake from costco (people love costco sheet cakes for some reason. they are cheap and tasty & if you ask them nicely they will make you one with specific icing borders. you local jewel bakery is also pretty accomidationg)
i put a bunch of accessories/toppers that i ordered from sugarcraft on there and for like $40 have had some nicely themed cakes.

it's no ace of cakes and clearly inferior to the d rose vitton suitcase, but @ $4960 cheaper....
and happy b-day to the little guy!

i don't know anything about cakes, but i find it awesome that your 5 yr old wants a bulls cake. You should be proud of the parenting job you're doing.

Yeah it's cool! I'm rubbing off on him. I got him watching old Bulls games with me, he knows all the players new and old, and he loves Benny and the starting lineups! Even knows who Ray Clay is!

My suggestion is to have a bulls jersey on the cake with his name on it and age as the #...depending on how big the cake is you could have Benny and/or logo on the sides

Why is Scalabrine still on the Celtics!??? And did they clone him? Plus, Perkins playing high on the perimeter? NICE.
Looks like Kirk is still on the team, must be a Vinny or Skiles era snapshot because he's defending one of the Scalabrines, and even better he's playing defense while his team has the ball. Gotta love Kirk.
Who is the other Scalabrine defending? A ghost?
And why is Taj taking threes???
But Ben Gordon is back on the Bulls again. Hooray!

Re: OT: Bulls Birthday Cake
I have done up a couple of them, and here is what I did, if you can't get your local grocery store to do it for you, or if you have a larger budget, go right to an actual bakery.
You can have them carve the logo out of a full sheet cake. I can't remember the exact dimensions off hand, but can blow up the horns and make an outline for them to trace, then just frost it to match.
I have also had one of my bakers make a cup cake bulls logo as well, which turned out really cool. Basically just put a bunch of cup cakes next to each other frost the top to connect them all in white, then draw the bulls logo over the top. Super easy for a kids b-day then because you can just separate the cup cakes, no cutting.
Obviously this is a specialty, but not difficult. Going right down to talk to your local grocery store cake person, and if you do a lot of the work to get them a stencil, with exactly how you want it to look, you can do that cake for under $40 bucks, vs paying a local bakery close to $100 for the same thing.
I own a grocery store, and I have customers that come in all the time with exactly what they want, and while it won't be something that would win a competition on Cake Wars, it always turns out really nice, and is a great value for a specialty cake that will be the talk of the party!
Hope this helps!

Especially considering the child is now 20 years old. I hope they still like the Bulls.
