Question from a Knick Fan
Hey Cavs fans, I remember we had our share of words, and arguments last season about the whole Lebron situation (Thank God, its over) In the end he burned us both. I remember alot of you guys said, you hope the last place he chose was NY. We all know he chose Miami, my question to you is, which would sting the most, If he chose NY, CHI, L.A. NJ, or would the anger be the same or you could understand him choosing a certain city over the next?

How did LeBron burn NY by going to Miami? Did he pinky swear to NYK fans that he was going to The Mecca? NY is still the last place I wanted to see LeBron end up.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Re: Question from a Knick Fan
LeBron never promised NY anything but he was certainly teasing their fan base the past few years. How many other players came out with NY inspired shoes or claimed Brooklyn as 'their favorite burrough?'
Now that Lequit is no longer with the Cavs he is an enemy regardless if he plays in NY, Chi, or Miami. I can definitely understand how his national image has taken a huge hit since he decided to join Wade in Mia instead of having the b@lls to lead his own team in Cle or NY.

The 'anger' is almost exclusively about how he left, not that he left. The city has nothing to do with it.
That said, the Heat situation has tarnished LeBron's reputation (ie. Wade's Pippen). I don't think people are angry about that, its just a function of his choice.
Finally, I am glad he didn't choose NY. Cleveland fans had to listed to the (NY centric) media for years about how LeBron couldn't wait to get there. There is satisfaction in knowing they were all wrong and their bias was exposed.

Alright, LOL I figured it would be worst If he chose NY. I notice nobody wants to see NY happy.

He may have ok'd the NYK shoe idea, but that is Nike at work. They know their markets and how to make money, LeBron is just their current cash cow.

What burned the Cavs fans is "The Decision". The other half is the fact they gave him so much just to have him quit in the end.

Lebron could not deal with the pressure of trying to win in cleveland. Do you really think he could deal with the pressure of winning in NY? answer: no freaking way. Thats why he took the easy road in going to miami.

The way things worked out having LBJ/Wade/Bosh on the same team increases my anticipation for NBA basketball to start, but I am disappointed. I thought LeBron would go to Brooklyn or NY and create his own legacy. As a fan of NBA basketball in general I wanted to see him in NY, Brooklyn or LA Clippers.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

New York in no way made it an easier path for LeBron to win a champioship. They just didn't have the horses

I know this is an old threat now, but I wanted to try to answer the question, at least from my perspective.
I knew deep down that LeBron was going to leave, as the hopeless Cleveland sports fan that I am I refused to admit that to myself and let myself believe that he was staying. Then when the announcement came that “The Decision” was going to be an hour long special on ESPN, I knew --- not thought --- I deep down in my gut knew he was staying. I mean seriously how could anyone be so callous and egotistical to have a one-hour sit show on National TV just to give a big FU to their home town… It turned out there was someone who was a big enough scum bag to do that, and he did it.
So to me it would sting the most because of the WAY HE LEFT, not because of the fact that he left. I mean lets face it, he was a free agent and he had the right to go wherever he wanted. Had his free agency period not been filled with the kind of hype and fan-fare around it that it was, and had “The Decision” not been broadcast like it was --- yeah I’d still be pissed that he left of course, but at least he wouldn’t have rubbed it in our faces the way he did.
No offense to Knicks fans, but there was never any chance of him going there. That organization is a joke and as long as the Dolan family runs it (trust us we know about the Dolans) it will remain a joke. I actually feel bad for Knicks fans because of the piss-poor ownership/management the Knicks have had for years now.
Anyone who seriously thought he was going to the Clippers, has no business ever opening their pie holes about sports.
NJ, I think was possible and had he gone there I would have been shocked, because it would have taken a while to build a team around him, So I would have been a little more upset about that one.
Chicago, I wouldn’t have liked it, and I couldn’t imagine him going there to play in Jordan’s shadow --- but him joining that team with the lineup already in place, would have been a phenomenal team, I really wouldn’t be able to blame him for going.
Miami, even if he had not left THE WAY HE DID, and signed more like the way Bosh, and Amare, etc.. signed would have still stung the most, because Wade has a ring already there that’s HIS team.
In the end though the sting is more about the way he screwed us over, we’ve had great athletes leave our sports teams in free agency before (Belle, Manny, Thome, etc.) but never by going on national TV to slap us in the face while doing it.

How is not going to a team = to burning a team. He didnt go to the Celtics he must really hate the city of Boston. Seriously by that logic he would always burn 29 teams more if you include d league more if you include euro league.

I believe in Karma though. I remember when TMAC left Toronto in a very disrespectful way. And look at where his career is at. 1st round exists and now signing for the league minimum in Detroit while coming off the bench. Don't worry Karma will happen in this case. In a few years Lebron will regret leaving the Cavs, trust me.
What he did to his home state is not forgiveable. It's unheard off.

A day before the "Decision" the Chicago asked Bulls owner Reinsdorf whether LeBron will join the Bulls.
Reinsdorf said that if LeBron was coming, he would have contacted us by now. we have heard nothing so we expect that he will go elsewhere.
Logical - and I'm sure LeBron didnt contact NY either. Miami of course probably knew for quite a while.
I do understand that he didnt let Cleveland's owner know he was leaving until almost show time. That is just wrong considering how much was given to him

I read an interview with the mother of his children. The woman who leBron failed to mention at all during his show that night. She said that LeBron's feeling was that everyone loves him because he is LeBron. LeBron felt it doesnt matter where he plays because he is loved for being LeBron. (She expressed the wish to stay in Ohio but her opinion is apparently not given much weight by James.)
Her comments make sense. LeBron seemed shocked when shown that his jersey was being burned. LeBron was not used to anything but adoration & love. Within a short time, fans and writers of almost all teams were criticizing LeBron for how he handled this departure. Again - he was not used to this. His marketability took a nosedive.
My opinion is that LeBron probably regrets already that he left.

They've, the HEAT organization, had this planned for years, I do not know why people do not acknowledge it more.

Bosh made the statement at their "celebration" that the 3 of them have been discussing it "for months". He later recanted that statement - but it certainly proves your point.

Yeah, one thing I didn't/don't get is why the OTHER places are so angry at him?
