The reason the games are blacked out is due to how the NBA sells the rights to TV compainies. The smart thing would be for them to change their way of handelling broadcast rights, but that would make too much sense.

I wonder how their billing works. Does it only look at IP or it looks at your credit card to determine which package you can buy.

I asked them your question last year, since I traveled back and forth.
They say it depends on the IP, and not your credit card.

You can ask them again, and maybe they separated Canada/USA to have better support in Canada, otherwise, it would be a poor decision.

So, if it works on an IP basis, then you should be able to activate hotspot shield, enter your credit card information etc on the American site and then also watch games using hotspot shield on the American league pass site.

Like others, I'm going to wait and see on this; I'm not paying $100+ dollars to sit through an entire year's worth of blacked-out Raptor games.

Let's ignore hotspot shield, and assume you actually travel to CA.
The problem was the national games without advance notice. NBA league pass always has bad services (non technical), and you can try listen to their NBA radio, which it doesn't work for over years with Canadian IPs. No explanation or what so ever.

You can blame the rights, and you can blame the league.. I guess NBA can include video streaming to TV companies along with broadcasting them, but they want to control the online section.

NBA is not the only league, like MLB costs $1m for the video highlights (2 mins max) to be shown on sports websites, and no TV companies make enough for that except ESPN (and TXX cheated on getting the MLB hightlights with partnering ESPN).

I think i'll just buy a VPN to watch Raptors/National(TNT) games. Can use it on the iPhone too. You can get one around 6 USD / month.

Maybe you can let me know if it works out.
Personally, I am not very happy with last year's services, I hope they improved enough.

Will I not be able to log into my League Pass account until the season starts? Highly confused on not being able to see anything after making said purchase.

Basically, a VPN is a point that your internet goes through, before going to your target internet destination. You get a VPN that is based in Europe or the USA and that way it detects your internet from a different country/state. By tricking their internet location sensor with a VPN, you can thus get to watch Raptors games and get around the blackout rules, because they think you're from a different area.

A VPN provides a secure tunnel to another network. That network can be anywhere in the world. If that network provides you internet access, you can use it. Your public IP address comes from the network that you are VPN'ing into. For example, if you VPN'd into a network in Germany, your IP address would come from Germany. Nobody will know that you are actually in Canada using a VPN.

Now my question. When you sign up for league pass, you have to pick a country and enter an address. I'm assuming that if I have an american address and an american IP address, I could get the american package and therefore view the Raptors games. Anybody know if this would work?
Reason No. 12,356 why I love the NBA: The Curry-Randolph combo marks the first time in NBA or WNBA history that a team has started two C-cups at the same time.

If you have an American billing address and IP, then it should work.

Wasn't their choice package the most popular one? Why would you not offer it again?

I'm still wondering if I should buy this. My Adobe flash player is messed up. Sometimes it'll let me use leque pass and other times it'll restart my internet for some reason. Does anybody know how to fix that?

I would not be surprised if they are showing this game because of the free preview.
