the game thread is literally people waiting for someone to mess up to complain.

Spos a good coach, hell adjust .. but not after just 2 games.

What has he shown you over the last 2 seasons to make you think that hes capable of running this offense? This collection of brilliant offensive players needs a brilliant offensive mind to coach them!

Don't give me any of that...but Spo gets them to play D nonsense! Its pretty evident that this bunch grasps the fact that you don't win rings without D.

I'm not calling for his head...way to early for that...but i'm nowhere near sold on Spo being the coach of a future dynasty!

is it really a surprise that we werent good offensively the last 2 years? .. Wade is the only ball-handler we had and the only consistent offensive player.

Spo wasnt the most creative, I agree with that .. but we didnt have enough talent to put that on Spo. Lets see how Miami looks on offense in 2-3 weeks , its only been 2 games.

Im just glad we dont have a Dantoni - Don Nelson type coach .. and we a have a coach that follows Rileys same mindset of defense and rebounding first and foremost.

Defense wins championships yada yada yada......basketball is 50% defense and 50% offense. Spo only works on one side of the ball. When push comes to shove playing defense alone is not gonna work unless he's banking on the fact that he has 3 very talented scorers who would deliver every time. But thats unreasonable. You gotta get stops and you gotta put the ball in the hoop. I called Mike Brown out every season he won 60+ games, simply because you gotta watch the games and analyse the dynamics. Every fan knows Arroyo is poor and we need spacing with the 1st unit, but Spo will only choose to realise that after 3 months. He better pray this team doesnt lose too many games or he's gone. Personally I like that his teams always bring defensive intensity, Riley should just hire somebody for offense.

Nobody is bathing that spoelstra hasn't done a great job defensively, he has clearly and we can already see that in the first two games, but the team doesn't wanna be losing game because of poor offensive performances when we have our trio!

We need to improve on offense and it doesn't take a genius to see that arroyos talents aren't well when all 3 are on the court, sure when one or two sit he'd be great, but I don't see the reasoning in starting him and I feel spoelstra should've seen this by now

Offense is what practices should be devoting to now, we need to become a cohesive unit that is capable of anything, a starting lineup that is successful from the jumpers from the 3, from the post and hopefully from the paint

WOW !!! You have the most talent but they haven't played together much. It's an 82 game pre-season before the playoffs start. You have plenty of time to work things out. No one expected the Heat to be the best from the start of the season. Many of you need to settle down.

P.S. The Celtics actually looked pretty bad against the Heat also.

FYI, the Celt's scored 87 points against CLE. I guess CLE is a defensive powerhouse as well

When Spo. learns to coach offense and defense, simultaneously, like every other competent coach THEN I will give him credit.

Are you suggesting the Celtics should fire Doc Rivers?

After all, isn't losing to Cleveland worse than losing to Boston?

A straw man argument is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position. To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a proposition by substituting it with a superficially similar yet unequivalent proposition (the "straw man"), and refuting it, without ever having actually refuted the original position:

1. Person A has position X.

2. Person B disregards certain key points of X and instead presents the superficially-similar position Y. Thus, Y is a resulting distorted version of X...

3. Person B attacks position Y, concluding that X is false/incorrect/flawed.

The straw man in your post is that somehow I am suggesting that Doc be fired. LoL! Such a ridiculous assertion and it clearly shows that there is no credible or logical argument to be made on behalf of Spo.

Well, with LeBron, Wade and Bosh to cover his ineptness, Spo. will be credited with a 60 win season and all you kids will praise him relentlessly

I am still here :P I don't post much during the off-season. That is all.

I think the Heat will have a fine reg. season but I don't know if they can win it all with this 1v1 offense.

It is ridiculous to point out flaws with the team, particularly one that is a longstanding issue?!?!

All I want to know is

Is there money involved? I know Riles has been in Coconut Grove handing out laptops with Wi-fi to get the push going to do a Stan #2 on Spo but theres got to be some cash involved too to start a fire the coach thread going two games into the season.

Thats got to be some kind of record.

After 2 games with this team when they are still getting it together there are flaws?
How about we settle down and see what this team can do when they are all on the same page before calling for a coaches head.

I dont mind Spo as Head coach but at least bring in an offensive minded assistant coach. Our assistants have been with the team like 13-16 years??? CMon get someone fresh in. always new Coaches and the same assistants... that makes no sense.

As ignorant as Tim Hardaway could be I think he could help this teams offensive philosophy as an assistant. I think Ron Roth is the one that needs to be replaced....not Spo.

Spo always consults his assistants for help... if nothing is changing , they are not giving him any new or different ideas.

Sad thing is this team is too good not to figure it out on their own.... too talented not to create their own offense on the fly. So we win regardless of whats going on with the coaching. Its sad because this could be a juggernaut of a team if pointed in the right direction.

Just because we will win should be jsut ignore our flaws and not try to get better?

I thought the Heat should've offered either Tyrone Corbin a job to bring in the Utah Jazz system or Dan Majerle to bring in the Sun's system. We need at least 10-15 system points per quarter with this talent. The rest should easily come off fast breaks and iso's.

Both are former Heat guys that aren't locked into the "Heat culture" and it's horrible offensive schemes! JMO

Thats the frustration with Spo. We've seen him burn Wade to the ground the past 2 seasons. We clearly dont want that with this group. I think we have enough talent and shooters where we can get 10-15 points from our system if Spo knows what he's doing like a poster suggested. Just get somebody with an offensive mind to complement Spo. And with the Arroyo issue, Ira suggested Spo will take his time with it, why...I dont know. We need a point that can stretch the floor. Bring Arroyo in with the 2nd unit for some more ball handling when either Wade or James is out.

LA Lakers, 97 points allowed last year.

What is this 1987? In today's NBA it's so easy to foul that defense doesn't win championships the way it once did.

I find it funny that the haters have yet to refute the points I made. You haters are the same people that wouldn't shut up about how amazing Beasley is and blamed Spo. Always behind the game.

Spo for making LeBron a jumpshooter?
Bosh offense... till it comes?

Still the same crap and only Perimeter defense is preserving the Heat's lead, but any good coach can have great d, especially with all of these terrific athletes.

At least give him some good offensive assistant coaches, damn it is terrible right now.
Y'all are just mad because y'all don't got swagger like Lebron has. It is a scientific fact that Bron's swagger has the power to transform an otherwise level-headed adult male into a jealous woman.
