Also Ryan Harrow/CJ Leslie playing for NC State at 6pm, and Cory Joseph/TT for Texas at 9pm...and aside from Barnes, Kendall Marshall might be a guy worth looking at from UNC.

Jones has looked pretty good to me so far, want to see if he can be more assertive scoring-wise. Excited to see Barnes too.

****, I won't be able to watch Barnes and UNC play, once again.

So, if anybody could give a little recap of Barnes' play, and some of the other UNC prospects (Bullock seems intriguing), that'd be much appreciated.

Yeah I'm watching Barnes.

1st half:

Pros:
-Just a beautiful shooter, such a silky jump shot. Looks like it is always going in and today it has been. After his 4th 3 pointer Hofstra has started double teaming him at the 3 point line! He recognized it early and made good passes out of the double.
- Great Bball awareness for his age (kinda like Irving), moves to the right spots at the right times, knows how to spot openings off the ball and makes good cuts.
- Defensively nothing stood out either way, seems competent.

Cons:
- Not so much a con, but it's hard to determine his athletic ability and ball handling skills. Hasn't taken anyone off the dribble or done anything spectacular athletically.

Recap of the first half:

Harrison Barnes

7 of 9 shooting, 19 points, 4 for 4 (3 point), 5 reb (3 offensive rebound)

UNC has great ball movement, because hofstra lacks size so they keep passing the ball inside to henson to take the advantage, the guards are playing very well - plays good perimeter defense and distribute the ball really well

Barnes:

He has been lights out at the 3 point line, very fundamentally sound and has good shot fake and jab step move

PLAY-BY-PLAY -

- hits a 3 pointer with a hand in the face (3 points), always try to crash the board (very Gerald Wallace like)
- crashed for an offensive board and lays it up quickly (5 points)
- buried an open 3 (8 points)
- in transition barnes tried to lay it up and to draw the foul but got blocked
- spot up for a 3 pointer, knocks it down with hands in the face (11 points)
- Zeller passing it out from the post to barnes for an open lane to lay it up, and 1 (14 points)
- BARNES IS RED HOT, another 3 by barnes with a man up on his grill (17 points)
- he attacks for another offensive board and put back (19 points)
- Barnes pounded the offensive board again but misses the putback

Defense was ok but not spectacular, jenkins crossed him, did a hesitated move and pull up for a jump shot in front of him

Bullock with a corner three, hits another open 3 - that`s about it.

Recap of the 2nd half

0 of 2 shooting, 0 of 1 from downtown, 2 rebs, 2 ast, 1 block, 1 to

Struggles in the 2nd half, his shots has cool down and played only 10 to 12 minutes

PLAY BY PLAY:

Barnes spins, bumps and collides with a guy in front, got called for an offensive foul
Barnes with a bad pass and turns it over
Misses a shot
In transition, misses a 3 pointer

Game stat:

7 of 11, 4 of 5 from downtown, 7 reb, 2 ast, 1 blk, 19 points

Sounds like Barnes was great in the 1st half. I saw the highlights - and I agree, Barnes has a silky-smooth jumpshot. Also, he has a very high bball IQ, it seems (i.e. makes the right decisions on the court).

Thanks for the detailed recap, frederick.

Texas vs. Illinois is a very interesting matchup coming up at 9. Lots of prospects to follow in that game. Freshman Jereme Richmond (Illinois), Demetri McCamey, senior PG on Illinois, Corey Joseph & Tristan Thompson, sophomores JeCovan Brown & Jordan Hamilton on Texas.

And doesn't Michael Jordan's son play on Illinois? I don't if he has a future in the NBA, but it'd be interesting to watch him play nonetheless.

Anyone got the baylor stream working? Jones's been on a tear with 11 points in the 1st half and damn I couldn't watch it live.

Ryan Harrow had 11 points, 10 assists off the bench for NC State (27 mins). He's quick and has good handles, and seems to be solid at finding teammates. Think he needs to improve his shot selection though. I think he could be a solid pickup with the Miami pick if he declares. Same goes for Kendall Marshall, who put up 3pts, 9 assists in 16 mins off the bench.
