Thabeet for a bag of Doritos.
Cooler Ranch or Nacho Cheese, either one would be great.

I wonder if Haddadi and Carroll can fetch a veteran back up center.

Probably not, but it should be explored (if it hasn't already).

On the trade boards on the What's Sideshow Bob worth, I suggested Thabeet + Henry for him. A couple of Cleveland fans seemed to be intrigued. I don't see the Grizz going much higher than that, but with AV and DA improving, that would set the front line for a while to come and allow for OJ, Marc and Conley to be re upped long term.

Thoughts?

Wow that's weird because I've been thinking about adding Varejao as well. The highest I would be Thabeet + Young. Anyways, Varejao would help so much defensively given his activity and quickness (particular pick and roll defense). Plus he's a good dive man in pick and rolls and can occasionally knock down the open 17 footer.

I don't like his contract but he would be good insurance in case Z-Bo or even Gasol left.

Hey guys. I'm playing the Grizz in the GM-a-team thing. I've been looking to find a new direction for the team. I'm deciding whether to keep OJ or Gay for long-term. Ideas?

posted this in philly forum too.

Would you do this trade with philly:

Iggy & Speights for Mayo, Thabeet and Henry

maybe add a 2rd pick.

Sub out Tony Allen for Henry. It's a very fair/tempting offer though.

Talent and salary wise it makes sense, but I don't see Iguodala meshing very well with the group we have in place. I just think they'd need a guy similar to OJ in terms of being a threat to hurt you from 3. Team doesn't have enough shooters. Just my opinion.
I mean you could turn Iguodala into some good pieces probably so who knows...

IDEALLY, you could keep both for around 6-8 million per year, as neither Gay nor Mayo are worth what they will ask for(and it only takes one stupid GM to give a player way more than they deserve)...but good luck with that. If you're forced to keep one or two(of course, it's a probably a video game engine you're using, so see which player has the most potential) for the long-term at 10-12 million or so per year, then go with Gay(as I believe he has more value in real life and long term potential)...I don't think Mayo is anything special, a decent starter at SG in the NBA at best...do not over-pay for him

Any interest in Varejao/Parker for Mayo/Thabeet?
Well at least we're not Detroit!

If our FO are trully down with Mayo´s recently play, would we do Mayo + Thabeet for Ibaka + Harden?

I love the idea of landing Ibaka, not nearly as sold on Harden.

OKC wouldn't do that trade IMO.

Nope. Henry and Thabeet for AV. No interest in Parker and none in moving Mayo - for that deal.

It is really not that crazy, Parker would provide floor spacing on an expiring deal, Varejao would backup Randolph and Gasol, and could start next to Gasol if Randolph leaves. In my opinion, a Varejao/Gasol front court would be very balanced. I think it balances your roster and possibly gets you out of the first round without adding a ton of money.

Yeah, I'd thought about a trade involving some combination of those pieces.
Grizz front office probably wouldn't pull the trigger, but who knows. There's no guarantee that Zach stays or is affordable. OJ Mayo looks to be the odd man out/expendable and retaining Marc is priority #1 for the Grizz (or should be at this point). Then there's Thabeet...

I wouldn't be. I'd rather see Thabeet used in a deal to bring in something, rather than just a dump.

i see your point. My reasoning is it lowers your 2011 committed salaries by 5.1 million. Factor in Conleys extension and the future extensions of Gasol/Mayo/Randolph and it is a lot of savings. If youd rather it can simply be.

TE + Pick for Thabeet + other long term contract

so it saves you money but i dont know whod youd want to dump really.
