I don't think Barbosa is going to be very hard to move. Does anyone disagree?

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
I wonder if Philly would put their 1st in play to clear the deck to build around Turner
someone posted on the trade board and i was suggesting the Raps are in a situation of having both expiring and a TPE to target a team like Philly
So Peja for Brand and TPE for Iggy
then the price of doing this would be something like
1) Mia 1st for Philly 1st (unprotected)
2) Pick swap option between Raps and Philly (option to swap over the next 3 drafts) I like this cause it protects against any issue the CBA may cause with the quality of draft.
3) some inclusion of Speights as well, I like his shot blocking and frame to play C

Absorbing both Brand and Iggy close to the deadline is an interesting gamble;
You hope that we lose a year, and we come back to an 18m dollar expiring Brand and two more seasons of Iggy in conjunction with two high lottery picks in 2011 to insert into the line-up as well as whatever we end up with for a pick in 2012.
However if we don't lose a season we are paying the tax to be a borderline playoff threadmill team next season and that hurts the 2012 pick.

No,
7.6m next season which isn't unreasonable, and he is one of the rare guys in the NBA perfectly content with coming off the bench and embracing that sort of role.

I think that's why pspot included the pick swap with Philly in his hypothetical deal. It's a good idea that I never really thought of. That would be a huge, ballsy move.
I wonder if Philly has any interest in setting their team back a few years just to clear that salary. Although overpaid, Iggy is still a very good player.

I'm not sure what the value of iggy is right now either. he is still a relatively young player that could be a big piece for some team. so treating him as a salary dump might be a bit of a stretch. I still think they want to move him just to open up time for Turner and Holliday.
Oh and my idea to swap picks, mean't Raps get to choose to swap only once during the next three drafts, not swap on each.

I like Speights too, but it will make it too complicated. to make the deal work, will probably have to throw in more prospects like Derozan or Weems and Alabi. I will still do it though. Derozan is a broke man's Iggy.

The problem with the above is that it puts Toronto about 8 million dollars into the luxury tax (our total salaries would be approx 78 million).

The last thing we need is another high usage big (and Kaman's less efficient than Bargs). I'd rather have a defense-first C.

OJ Mayo is not in the starting line up for the second game straight. His scoring and usage is down this year I expect him to be available soon if not already.
And no thanks on Kaman, does not fit with our youth movement, but a three-team trade would be ok.

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
you know all this talk about Iggy and i like the idea of him on our team. Would anyone do this, it doesnt put us in luxury tax.
i would love something like.
To TOR: Iguodala
To PHI: Barbosa + Wright + Miami Pick
dont think Philly would do that but i think Igoudala as our 3 would explode and be perfect. Also we wouldnt have to take Brands contract but i doubt they do it. Imagine Iggy running uptempo in our system. It would be a thing of beauty. I might do something like:
to TOR: Brand
to PHI: Peja
then
to TOR: Iguodala + sweetener?
to PHI: Barbosa + Evans
i mean
Calderon/Bayless
Derozan/Weems
Iguodala/Klezia
Brand/Davis
Bargnani/Johnson
is a playoff team. Id need a sweetner though for taking Brands deal.

There's no way we're taking on brand that kills the idea of anything uptempo or future orientated as our franchise has moved on to

What about
Reggie Evans
Leandro Barbosa
Miami 1st
For
Jeff Green
Mo Pete
Calderon / Bayless
Derozan / Peterson
Weems / Klezia / Peja
Green / Davis / Dorsey
Bargnani / Johnson / Alabi
Next year I'd hope we would be
Irving
Derozan
Green
Davis
Bargnani
Reggie Evans
Leandro Barbosa

^^ Love that deal, but I don't think OKC goes for it, Green's been playing really well this year. I think he would be a great fit here.

well they just re-signed collison. They have to eventually re-sign westbrook and the year he becomes a FA is the year Barbosa expires. They get a pick out of it, it depends whether they believe hes in their future plans or not. If they want to re-sign him to the money he will get which i think could be 12 million. Or would they rather get an expiring tough big man who could be valueable in the playoffs and nice scoring off the bench with Barbosa and a late pick. I dont know but Green is perfect here.

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
Just a thought...don't know if they'll do it but oh well. This would only work after the restriction on Peja is over.
Grizzlies out:
O.J Mayo
Grizzlies In.
Sonny Weems
TE of 4.5 Million
Miami pick
Pro(s):Grizzlies get a great of-the-bench scorer and defender and a pick.
Con: Give up Mayo's potential.
New York out:
Eddy Curry
Wilson Chandler
New York in:
Peja Stojakovic
Reggie Evans
TE of 2.1 Million
Pro(s)|NY gets a solid, veteran shooter with a juicy expiring contract and a monstrous rebounder which is also an expiring contract.
Cons: Give up a great player in Chandler.
Raps Out:
Peja Stojakovic
TE of 2.1 Million
Reggie Evans
Raps In:
O.J Mayo
Eddy Curry
Wilson Chandler
Pro(s):Raps get a soild, young SF who can shoot, play defense and run with this team, a 7-foot center with a heavy (11 million) expiring contract and of course a smooth shooting ball handler in Mayo.
Con(s): This move COULD risk DeRozan's potential since Mayo needs the ball to be effective.
Mayo is an undersized SG and therefore could be a liability on defense.
Mayo chucks 3's WAY too much and doesn't like contact. Doesn't get to the line every much.
However, if DeRozan could play the 3, this could very well be the breakthrough T.O needs.
Thoughts?

What's the trade value on Bargnani in the minds of Raptors fans?
What would the Sixers have to offer to get Bargnani in the opinion of you fans?

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
The deal that I like right now is Weems, Miami 1st and Peja for +Iggy.
I think that Philly would do it as they get a viable player in Weems plus a pick to help them shed some salary and unblock Turner's development.
We get an upgrade at SF and we'll then be set at that position for the next 3 years along with Kleiza.
