Suggestion: edit the thread title to indicate this is a false rumor from a known bs artist.

Let Ellis be the scorer in the second unit, and play him at SG in the fourth quarter

You don't do a trade like this just to make your bench stronger, Ellis will be starting.

You don't wanna go into "per 40 minutes" stuff. You can use that logic to say Cavs rookie Samardo Samuels averages over 34 points per 40 minutes, and should be a frontrunner for MVP...

And regarding shot attempts and efficiency... how about Ellis is taking fewer shots than either Kobe or Durant while hitting more. And he's shooting a better 3P% than either with similar attempts.

FGA
Bryant: 20.8
Durant: 20.6
Ellis: 19.9

FGM
Ellis: 9.4
Bryant: 9.1
Durant: 8.9

3P%(3PA)
Ellis: .340 (4.1)
Bryant: .314 (4.4)
Durant: .291(5.2)

I would love Ellis under most circumstances BUT I don't know if he fits our team, it gives us a really small backcourt and we play far, far to slow for him to succeed at a high level, however perhaps acquiring Ellis is a bigger picture trade in an attempt to eventually acquire Paul or Anthony? Ellis is the type of player this team can use tho, we need that guy capable of 40 pts on any given night

But w/o a doubt this team needs some changes it's not constructed to win a title

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

there's nothing wrong with it, if you compare players who are capable of averaging big numbers. Everybody knows Vince can average 20-5-4 if he plays big minutes (he did even better throughout his career) but it's laughable to say that Samuels can average 34pts per 40 minutes. Hence, you can't use that logic for all players.

btw, i agree with you about Ellis being more efficient than Kobe and Durant when it comes to scoring.

On sportsnation this morning, Sheridan says he expects Orlando to make a move by the end of the week.

makes sense, by December 15th, any team that had traded players, etc, can be moved.
