Are you considered a "shooter" when you shoot 39% FG?

Big risk. If it fails, I can't see Dwight sticking around in Orlando in 2012.

Arenas has always had a low FG %. Very similar to a Allen Iverson.

But he used to hit about 35% on 3s and shoot 8-10 FTs per game. So he was a pretty efficient scorer till the injuries. He hasn't been the same since 2007 though.

yeah, they werent loaded with shooters before with Pietrus shooting 39% from 3, Nelson 39% career from 3, Rashard 39% career from 3, Redick 39% career from 3, Carter 38% career from 3, Richardson 36% career from 3, Ryan Anderson 36% career from 3....

They werent loaded with shooters before, but now if they add Arenas, and his efficient shooting, they will be.

The Orlando Magic's trade discussions with the Washington Wizards regarding point guard Gilbert Arenas may involve the Magic sending more back to Washington than first thought. A source advised Orlando Pinstriped Post that combo forward Rashard Lewis, who owns the league's second-largest salary, is "being discussed" in this potential trade, with shooting guard Vince Carter also headed to the nation's capital.

Lewis' potential inclusion in the trade changes its dynamics entirely, as it'd signal a clear signal that Orlando intends to trim salary. Such a development corroborates an earlier report by CBSSports' Ken Berger. He quotes "a source familiar with the Magic's plans as saying, "they're not in the same class as Boston or Miami. With a $94 million payroll, they didn’t do that to get out of the first round. The window has closed up a bit."

Lewis and Carter combine to earn over $37 million this season, according to ShamSports, so if the Magic were to send them both to Washington, the Wizards would have to include more than Arenas' $17.7 million salary to make the trade work under the NBA's Collective Bargaining Agreement. My source did not know which players Orlando would receive in this scenario, but did say it's "unlikely" that veteran combo guard Kirk Hinrich would be in their number.

So who is gonna be the franchise player. Kirk Hinrich? Because you would be lucky to see Wall in a uniform for more than 45 games with all those painful shin bruises.

gil jacks up shots cuz NO ONE ELSE on the team can score. he also is getting completely ignored by the refs which has turned him into a jumpshooter. hes still attacking yet is in the bottom 5 for fta by starting guards. also theres only 2 guards who are in the top 25 for fpg. gil is one. hes getting completely shafted by the refs on both ends and the stats are there to prove it.

and please ppl, stop throwing up fg % as a measurable statistic. when gil was shooting 40% from the field in his prime, he was among the league leaders in ts% which is a much better measurement for shooting efficiency.

Gil hasn't "gotten it done" since 2006-07. There is no evidence that he is still capable of it.
