Nash-Grant-Carter

Imagine :-?. I really do hope the Phoenix training staff gets Carter back into it. It would be kind of fun to see those 3 in some type of form.

Put me on record as saying I hate these trades. Good luck to Miami and Boston in the ECF.

Pietrus has 2 years/10 million left. Gortat 4 years/28 million. Hedo 4/40. Do the math. This is basically a wash salary wise.

It's a team option.

Carter is under contract for $18 mill next year but only $4 mill is gtd, Pietrus has a team option for $5.3 mill,

I'd love to be wrong GF but everywhere I look it says player option.

Nope. He has an unguaranteed deal. They can buy him out for 4 million.

What are the Magic going to do about front court depth now? Clark, Anderson, Orton? Not much good there.

Carter will begin to go off. Gil on Magic is crazy, with these trades completed they could easily compete for the Eastern Conference Championship and possibly another finals appearance.

Just fill me in,

Hedo had a trade kicker in his contract, and it was activated in the TOR-PHX trade.
Does it apply again in this trade as well?

There are actually Phoenix fans that don't like this trade?!

It's awful on the surface but if we can flip Carter for an Iguodala type player then I like it a lot. Not sure if that's possible though.

If that was possible, Orlando would have done it weeks ago.

More than a few Wizards fan thought that Gilbert has been coasting.

He may be a completely different player in Orlando.

As a Magic fan, this trade is terrible for us if the Shard for Arenas swap doesn't happen. We really overpaid for J-Rich and Hedo (or rather, we vastly overvalued Carter's near-expiring and Gortat). On the other hand, Richardson and Hedo are proven players in the Playoffs, something we really lacked last year *coughWincecough*. Richardson is definitely a better fit in our offense than Carter was, and hopefully Hedo gets more motivation playing on the team he performed best with.

Arenas has been disappointing this year, but from what I've heard from numerous Wizards fans, he's been wanting a trade and has been coasting for a good chunk of the season. We've seen what a healthy Arenas can do (a proven #1 option), let's hope it works out.

This is definitely a risky move by Otis Smith. If everything works out, we have a great offense and hopefully we win the championship. Worst case scenario.... I don't want to think about that.

Why so many insecure fans that feel they need to convince EVERYONE that this is a bad deal and it's not going to work? Let's see them play some games before declaring Dwight is leaving in 2 years, sheesh.

If PHX knew how to manage money this would be a good deal for them. PHX could of resigned Amare instead of Frye and other and then gone after Melo this summer with this deal. Nash, Melo, Amare. Overall I see the point for the Magic but I like this deal alot for PHX.

Waived kicker and also reworked his contract to allow for a buyout in his last year.

So, after all this, who's guarding Lebron again? Hedo?

Really going to miss Richardson though. He's been playing at a borderline all-star level since May. Who knows, maybe we get him back next summer.

it will be way easier to play along good post player for a guy like Hedo, J.Rich is better than Carter atm so looks like a balanced deal. I loved J.Rich in suns he played awesomely lately I guess suns fans might be a little sad losing him.
