Pau was miserable last night. He was so lazy on offense and defense. He was constantly looking for fouls that the refs wouldn't and shouldn't give. I would say that Pau's effort was the poorest last night. His play really made me sick. In the past few games, Bynum plays a lot better than Pau on both offense and defense. I think that Bynum is showing that he's a better offensive player in the post who knows how to finish strong.

A few good games by Bynum and all of a sudden what Gasol did in the last 3 years for the Lakers is completely forgotten?

If Pau wants more shots he needs to post up down low instead of the high post. He needs to be more aggressive. Quit passing to Kobe. There were multiple times in yesterday's games when Kobe passed the ball but for some reason the ball was passed back to Kobe with 10 seconds or less on the shot clock. Of course he is going to shoot when no one else is being aggressive. The entire Laker team is in funk.

Maybe its just me, but I dont think hes calling out Kobe at all.

Read it again: We got behind early because of stupid plays, and then Kobe HAS to screw up the game and START ENERGIZING THE TEAM..

I think Phil was basically saying that Kobe had no choice, he had to go one-on-one to get the team going again because of all the mistakes, not necessarily that Kobe got selfish and ruined their chances at winning. Look at the box score at the half, Kobe attempted only 6 shots and they were still down by 10+.

For years, I've posted reasons why I place blame on Kobe for his feud with Shaq. Most of them are backed up by Phil Jackson. But everybody calls me a hater. I don't put personal feelings in it. Just things I've witnessed. Now, you have Kobe's coach AGAIN pointing out that Kobe is doing something that is costing the Lakers games, and he's called "a troll" and it is his fault for not doing something about it. Why no accountability for the player??? Phil said back in 2004 that Kobe was the kind of player that would tell you "yes" when you tell him to do something, but would do what he wanted to do anyway. So regardless who the coach is, Phil can't make Kobe do anything he doesn't want to do. That's part of the reason Phil demanded him to be traded, and why he called him "uncoachable". Not making it up.

I love the apologists that try to spin it. Kobe screws up a game by playing selfish (things Shaq voiced his displeasure about for years and got blasted for), and his coach speaks up. But immeadiately, people are saying that it's Phil's fault and Phil is a troll for saying it.

You have absolutely no clue what your talking about. Kobe had 6fga's at halftime and they were down by at least 10. How exactly did Kobe cost them the game? It was only when he started going one-on-one that they brought the game back within 2.

They'll be fine and are still the heavy favorites to win the NBA championship. Phil is just stirring the pot in the dog days of the NBA season to light a fire under his team.

Geez how many times will the Lakers try and use the media to light some fire up their asses this season!

This drama is nothing new btw. Kobe's selfish play was called out by his team last season when he was ballhogging and breaking some scoring or Laker franchise record. Gasol and the Lakers had a players meeting about it. In fact I remember Gasol saying something like they could now focus on team basketball after Kobe reached his individual landmark. Around then you had people calling for imminent implosions in the locker room and then they went on to win the friggin' championship however that Lakers team didn't struggle anywhere near as much as this year's.

Anyone that follows Kobe knows he wants to take over the game and play hero ball. What must be concerning for Laker fans is that in his past 3 big games he hasn't had a good shooting night at all (Game 7 Finals, X-Mas vs Heat, and @ Spurs). The Lakers sure as hell won't repeat again if Kobe resorts to hero ball and can't deliver in the PO's but sooner or later he'll realize what needs to be done.....I think.

Phil also call him out last week saying "if I was Kobe team mates I wouldn't pass him the ball". This was when Kobe was chucking up shots instead of running the triangle.

They lost last night because of turnovers. 20 - 10 in favour of memphis. Kobe took 22 shots while Gasol only had 9.

I'd like to blame ron Artest. This guy was supposed to give us 15 PPG . He's taking like 5 shots a game and has no problem with it.

He's averaging a point per shot, last thing we need is Artest chucking up 15 FGA per.

Lmfao Kobe teabaggers in full force. Phil said what he said, stop **** insinuating something when all you have to do is take the damn quote at face value. Assume he's not speaking in code and his message is clear as day. Clearly, you cannot take the things that have been said about Kobe and think, "hmm, maybe he is a tad selfish at times" instead you want to make something up to support Kobe.

Kobe is one of the greatest players ever. He is a bit selfish, so what? You need to be a bit selfish to amass the numbers that he's had over his long successful career. Why is it difficult to accept that he might have cost the team a game by being selfish? He might be the best player we've seen this last decade but he's not a perfect basketball player.

Stfu and criticize away you damn Kobe nutgarglers. He's **** due.

Ballboy and USA- in your feeble attempts to dodge the real issue and degrade me, you missed the entire point. My post had nothing to do with the game. It had to do with the comments by Phil. So quit dancing around the issue of Kobe being selfish and stick to what I post before just trying to meke me look bad. It only makes you look silly!!

Jaypo, Phil comments were about THIS GAME. You want to misinterpret, as always, his comments to make it look like he is doing it every game. Kobe has 1 quarter where he was trying to spark the team but it didn't work. The team sucked for the ENTIRE game.

Don't comment on games you CLEARLY don't watch!

let it out man. let it out. I'm a big fan of Kobe and acknowledge he's selfish at times. The team is losing games and he thinks he needs to go out and win them for us so he's taking too many shots. That is WHY he's taking too many shots .

i'd rather watch Kobe miss a shot than someone else throwing the ball away.

Kobe is, and will continue to be, our best player. and i want our best player taking shots. he's too good for them to continually miss.

Ok? Regardless of how he feels its still a fact that he's taking too many shots. Are you trying to counter what i'm saying or just providing some sort of reasoning? Cuz that's exactly what I pointed out in my post.
