NY Trades: Curry, Chandler, Randolph, Mozgov, Walker, Mason, Azubuike, $3 Million, two 2nds
Denver Trades: 'Melo, Harrington, and throw-ins
They save on Curry's deal, 'Buke's deal, and obviously the extra $3 Million plus the shedding of Harrington's contract is huge for them. They can continue their rebuild with a core of Nene + Chandler + Lawson. I don't want Harrington but if taking him back means getting 'Melo plus not having to give up Gallo or Fields, then do it.

I'm not sure how reliable the source is but just says melo told nuggets again last week he doesn't want to resign and plans on making a team with superstars like Miami. In my opinion that's definelty something they can do in ny with amare

Why are you including Mozgoz, Walker and Mason?
Salary cap-matching wise, Curry, Azubuike, Chandler, Randolph is enough.

One has to wonder whether LBJ would have stayed had Cleveland made a move for Amare last season and they went further in the playoffs.
One has to also wonder why Denver is not trying harder to upgrade the talent around Melo if they are really interested in winning.
I fully understand Melo's point. Just look at Denver for a second. Here is a team that has traded talent away for cap space in the past (Camby). With a coach whose future is not clear. And several key players whose future is on the air. Nevermind the roster as it is is not good enough to win.

Or, even if they don't want those guys now and they want immediate returns, it doesn't mean we can't get a third party to give them picks or a young guy in a longer rookie contract if that's more of their preference. If Indiana and Minessotta are willing to surrender first round picks for AR then I imagine Gallo and Chandler will be able to get them even better value than that.
But the market would be somewhat limited to teams with cap space, unless Denver wanted to take back an expiring (for another whole year) to make the conversion.
I LIKE Gallinari, I think he is and will be a good player. But if Nuggets don't, it would reasonably affect not only Denver's desire to have him play for them, but also what they think they could get back in another trade for him.

Yeah no sh*t, Tommy Dee. Honestly, who didn't think Amar'e is in Melo's ear 24/7.

He can scream it from the rooftops. The boys in Miami made it clear that players talking isn't tampering.

The Rebel is too busy picking out players from other teams in trades that will never happen.

David Stern says it isn't tampering when players talk with each other about their future.

I guess this is what will happen. It seems to me Denver would rather have some picks and cap relief instead of actual players. It is up to Walsh to get creative and find third/fourth teams to make a deal.

The Rebel doesn't believe the Knicks are in the Melo race, nor does he believe the Nets deal broke down because Melo wouldn't sign the extension, but he wraps the rumor that Houston told the Nuggets that they can pick and choose whatever they want from the roster, even if it is a rental (which is patently false) around himself like a warm blanket.
I can't wait until the deadline.

List of teams that would likely want Gallo or have no SF:
Raptors (have huge TPE as well)
Cavaliers (have huge TPE as well)
Kings
Clippers
Hornets
Rockets
Jazz
Bobcats (if/when they move Wallace)
Pistons (Prince expiring)
Bucks
Nets (lol)
Suns (although they do have Hill/Dudley atm)
So yeah, if Denver doesn't want Gallo, I find it hard to believe that Walsh can't find a third team to get Denver an asset they'd want.

actually the source is david aldridge nba.com, they're just reprinting the story
http://www.nba.com/2011/news/features/david_aldridge/01/03/morning-tip-2010-countdown/index.html
i believe this 100 percent. when the big 3 in miami got together is exactly when melo realized he needed to join other stars to have a chance to really compete.

Here is a massive trade offer:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=28lekug
NY sends: Gallo, AR, Walker, Curry, Azu, Mason
NY receives: Melo, Posey, D. Jones
Indy sends: Posey, D. Jones, 2011 pick
Indy receives: Curry, AR, Mason
Minny sends: 2011 pick
Minny receives: Gallo, Azu
Denver sends: Melo
Denver receives: Walker, plus two first rounders from Indy and Minny
Denver also goes below the luxury tax and receives a huge salary exception.
We just lose Gallo from rotation, but replace him with Melo. Posey and Jones will expire in 2012. We keep future picks and Fields.

Does Minny care for Gallo when they have Beasley though?
I think Raptors, Cavs, or Clippers are our best trade targets for Gallo since all three could use a sharpshooting SF on their team, and have cap space or TPE's to absorb contracts from Denver (and/or high lottery picks if they'd be willing to go so far for Gallo)

I think herein lies something of the issue.
Again, I LIKE Gallinari, but he's NOT a "sharpshooting" SF, at least not yet.

I think they should. Gallo would be a great asset for them. If they don't they are idiots. I think any team would be glad to have Gallo for a 2011 pick no matter whether the pick is protected. '11 doesn't look great at all.
I agree with the three teams you mentioned and the same deal would work with them too.

"-- The Cavs remain very active in trade talks. They are right in the middle of the Carmelo Anthony trade talks and can help facilitate the deal. They are reportedly hoping to get a first-round pick out of the proceedings."

I'm curious whether they could be in a deal if the knicks and nuggets get close but I'm wondering if their is a deal between the knicks or anybody else would it be a 2 team trade or 3-4 team trade.
