I disagree.
Both Wade and Lebron are way better than him this year(till now, needless to say), i think Durant and Nowitzki are better also and don't laugh but Rondo has done a greater job than Kobe this year also.
Big reason about all these is Kobe's percentages. They are exceptionally bad this year! What i can't believe is 3pt% shooting where Lebron's is much better than him! :o :o :o :o :o

His teammates just have to pick it up, Kobe can't do it all alone.

That's a common argument and a very weak one. You know, if they don't get the ball in their hands they can't do nothing! And Kobe is having the ball in his hands much more for sure, shooting much much more, and with those percentages one is left wondering why others don't get the ball.
I don't think it's a coach's decision. In fact i think this is the reason Jackson said those things against Kobe before some days(duh! the words in the topic tittle! I forgot where i was!) to make him understand that he should pass more.

As all this unwinds, I am laughing myself to sleep as a fan of Shaq. For years, I've battled with people blaming and blasting Shaq because "he made mean comments about Kobe", and that "Shaq's ego wouldn't allow Kobe to become the leader". Now, you have Pau Gasol, who is arguably their most important player now, complaining about the way Kobe is playing (as he did last year). And you have his OWN COACH calling him out twice in the same week about DIFFERENT GAMES and how he is playing selfish. Where's all the Phil hate? What he said is as "mean" as the things Shaq said, and they're being said for the EXACT SAME REASON.

You see, the world is now making a big deal out of it because Kobe has supposedly become this great consumate team player. And when he keeps getting called out for being selfish, people are raising eyebrows. This happened starting in 2000! And back then, it was written off as Shaq complaining about his touches. Well, he was the most dominant player in the league averaging a ridiculous fg%. He SHOULD be complaining if someone's selfish play was preventing him from scoring and his team from winning. Now, you have yet another all star center on Kobe's team complaining about Kobe's selfishness. Can you put the blame on Shaq for that as well?

^ Laugh at Shaq for wasting his potential by being lazy, over weight, out of shape and having a poor work ethic. It must kill Shaq lovers that someone they consider a lesser player actually accomplish more.

This really isn't as big a deal as anyone is making it out to be. It's almost a weekly regime for Jackson to say something outrageous, off-the-wall or arrogant about someone.

I'm sure Mark Cuban is his next target for Cuban's "boy toy" comment.

O'Neal left LSU for the NBA after three years. However, he promised his mother he would eventually return to his studies and complete his bachelor's degree. He fulfilled that promise in 2000, earning his bachelor of arts in general studies. Coach Phil Jackson let O'Neal miss a home game so he could attend graduation. At the ceremony, he told the crowd "now I can go and get a real job".

Subsequently, O'Neal earned an MBA online through the University of Phoenix in 2005. In reference to his completion of his MBA degree, he stated:

“It's just something to have on my resume for when I go back into reality. Someday I might have to put down a basketball and have a regular 9-to-5 like everybody else.”

He is currently undertaking a PhD in Leadership and Education with a specialization in Human Resource Development at Barry University. His dissertation topic is "The Duality of Humor and Aggression in Leadership Styles".

Don't dis Shaq's and call him lazy. As for basketball accomplishments, the last I heard, he is still playing.

When Kobe and Phil meet with him, they call him Dr. O'Neil.

That shows you he is not dedicated to his craft. I am not the only one that calls his lazy. Shaq getting a 9-5  . The dude has made almost $300 million in just salary, not including endorsements. He could of finished college after his NBA career was over. Nice excuse Shaq fans use.

Shaq could of been the undisputed GOAT if he was dedicated. Quite sad that Kobe, who didn't even start his first 2 seasons in the league has accomplished/won more than Shaq in 3 fewer seasons. That is why Shaq signed for the Celtics, to try to win another ring to catch Kobe.

Rings are so overated. Lets use Finals MVPs instead who has more?

Music, film, philosophy, sport ... Shaq is a Renaissance man. The Big Aristotle. I really can't see why would a titan like Shaq limit himself to just the game of basketball. That is for lesser mortals.

MVP ... check. Finals MVP ... check. Best scorer ... check. Multiple championships ... check. And so on. What does he need? 50 rings? That's megalomania.

And yes, he really is interested in working in law enforcement after his basketball career is over. Serving the community, being a citizen ... if you know what that means. He is bettering himself to dedicate himself to what is really important. To some people money is not everything.

The truth might be painful, but it is obvious. Not only is Shaq better basketball player than Kobe, he is also a better and far more accomplished human being.
