I am sorry, but it just doesn't make sense for the Nets to work out the structure of a huge deal that will land you a Franchise Player and you allow it to hit a snag over something stupid like a draft pick (especially one that isn't going to you) twice. How do you let that happen, you can't let that happen. You make a complicated deal like that to get a player like Carmelo Anthony you gotta make sure it get's done. To have that happen to you twice makes me think either A) Your front office is completely incompotent (which maybe true if your willing to give up Favors, Harris, and Five First Rounders) of B) the real issue was that Melo didn't want to sign there. At first I was worried when I heard the Nets news, but the more I think about the more fishy the story is.
