The best indication Melo agrees with this is the fact that teams are working on it and Leon Rose is acting as a mediator. Nobody would be losing time if they weren't sure that an extend'n'trade couldn't get done.

Yes they do. And it's been their agent who has been pushing Rip's inclusion. Supposedly Melo wants to play with Rip.

Apparently Melo's agent Leon Rose convinced him that playing together with Rip Hamilton (agent: Leon Rose) is great and that the Nets will do everything to get CP3 (agent: Leon Rose) in 2012.

It's probably the best package for Melo.

Also why would Detroit nix this over Petro?

Sure, but this alleged deal pretty much guts their entire roster. Getting Melo is all fun and games, I'm sure, but once you're stuck with him and surround him with nothing but scrubs, what are you gonna do?

they also play in the east, besides Boston, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta and Orlando I'd say spots 6-8 are up for grabs, I think they could make the playoffs but I doubt they get far once in

I honestly doubt they will, it's too good for them not to. They just realize the position of power they're in, holding this whole thing up, so they're pushing for as much as they can.

Very interesting, you should work for ESPN b/c apparently they couldn't be bothered to include that info in their article

Nets are talking big but let's see if they deliver. If I were Knicks I would be worried cause there is a chance Melo will stay in Brooklyn and harass the Knicks for the next 5 years.

Not only that there's a chance Paul joins him in NJ and that'll really piss Knick fans off when they're stuck with the 6th seed lol

I don't see how Melo has any chance of a title with Boston, Miami and Orlando looming over them in the East even after this deal. They can't even hope for Chris Paul until 2 more years. He'd be better off in the West, which with the Lakers' current state is almost wide open up to the WCF.

Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Dwight Howard.... the Summer of 2012 is going to be very interesting. I predict the hype will begin in a couple of months.

Agree. In a couple of years the Lakers will not be as dominated. I honestly think he should go to the Mavs. Cuban should make it happen.

The Rockets and the Clippers would be some options.
Smart / Micic / D. Wright
Wiggins / Exum / J. Adams
Parker / K. Anderson / Mcdermott
Randle / Vonleh / Stokes
Embiid / Nurkic/ Tavares
