Amar'e Stoudemire will make an appearance on Letterman. Carmelo may get on Michael Kay.

What?

Melo on Kay's show or is this a joke? lol

He must be joking. He's saying Amar'e gets Letterman because he's a Knick, Melo only Kay if he's a Net.

Chris, are you still sticking to your prediction that Carmelo will not sign an extension this season w/ anyone but the Knicks?

It was not a prediction. It was a report. And the report said Melo will not agree to sign the extension if he is traded, unless he is traded to the Knicks. I stand by the report.

Yes, he has not mentoined Melo changing his mind, he is quite adament about his reporting of this matter.

Well if Sheridan is right, Melo will be a knick one way or the other.

Chris, all signs seem to point at the Nuggets not dealing directly with the Knicks, and with your research/sources being that Melo will not sign an extension with anyone but the Knicks, can we conclude that the best bet at this point being someone other than NJ "rents" Melo and signs and trades him to NYK?

Chris Sheridan (2:12 PM)

The No. 1 reason why the Nuggets aren't dealing with the Knicks is because they prefer the Nets deal. The No. 2 reason, in my opinion, is because young Mr. Kroenke does not want to be held hostage by a player who only wants to be dealt to one team. I do know that the Nuggets are still speaking to other teams about contingency plans in case the NJ-Detroit deal falls through. But if someone else (Houston?) get him on a rental, I do not expect them to then ship him off to the Knicks. They'd keep him and hope he could put them in realistic position to compete for the championship

According to Wojo, Prokorov will not back off no matter what happens till Melo is a Net.

BT also just said that his source is telling him the Nets would trade for Melo without an extension.

Was that a real question? Of course a team that gets him dirt cheap isn't going to trade him to NY.

I also want to go on record saying that I wish Melo stays in Denver. They want him there and are willing to pay him for it. I just hate it when athletes jump ship so quickly.

Kay also works for YES and does Yankees stuff. Hahn was just making a joke. No need to read into it any further than that. ;)

If BT is right and Melo is traded to NJ without extension then signs with the Knicks it would completely kill the Nets franchise.

I still think there is no way the nets will give up all that is reported for a rental when their team is 10-26..

No way Nets rent him unless Prokorov really thinks he can convince Melo to stay.

My initial reaction to the Nuggets making additional trade demands is that they're filibustering because they don't know whether Carmelo will actually sign off on the deal.

Theyve got a lot of picks and capspace. If they let Denver kill all their capspace and take all their picks they are fools. Who else is bidding??? Foolish owner.
