Coming off the bench and being a lower man on the totem pole behinds Amre, Melo , and are youth wil settle him down. If not we move him down the line.

Serious note,

If the trade was offered right now.

Gallo, Fields, Randolph, Curry, 1st for Melo, Harrington, Balkman.

How could you say no?

No Fields and probably no Chandler either.

Gallo, Randolph, Future 1st with Curry.

I don't think we'd have to include Randolph if we're giving up both Gallo and Fields AND taking back the contracts Denver wants to dump.

I have trouble buying that they like Chandler more than Gallo.

i'm fine with any gallo/chandler AR, 1st, curry deal
likewise
fields, ar, 1st, curry.

we can always trade gallo for a big or a sg. he can be more valuable this way.

melo > gallo

curry, AR, balkman are all useless so they doesnt even factor in

fields > harrington, however the trade gives the ability to keep the mle, this summer pick, and chandler makes this even out

I'd do it

Ok New Scenario

Melo says Yes to a trade to the Nets and Knicks.

Denver says we like the Gallo Fields Randolph Package better or well trade him to the Nets no problem
what do you say then?

Yup. I don't even think twice. Gallo, AR, 2014 first rounder, Eddy, Azubuike, $3 million and Mason Jr for Melo and Harrington is an extremely generous offer and final one.

I try not to buy into the rumor mill, but I gotta wonder why this trade hasn't happened yet. Yesterday's news made it seem like it was a done deal and they were just haggling over spare parts.

The only other reason I can think of is that Melo doesn't want to sign with the nets, but his management is trying to talk him into making the deal while at the same telling all teams involved that they'll be able to sell him on Newark.

For contractual reason I might agree. But since they don't want to deal with us anyway - whadoesitmatter...

Does anyone think the Nuggets WONT let Melo talk to the Nets before a deal is completed, and that could be the hold up?

Good luck in Newark.

Then proceed to work on other trades.

The hold up is the Nuggets are trying to dump all of there bad contracts on the Nets. They already gave the Nets permission to talk to 'Melo IF a trade is agreed upon.

Sheridan chat Snippets:

Edwina (Edwina's Palace)

This Melo trade makes perfect sense from Detroit and NJ's perspectives, but I'm still having a hard time understanding what the Net's are thinking: they get an aging Billups and Hamilton, trade away a wealth of young talent, lose multiple 1st round draft picks, and get a player in Anthony who may not want to be there. Finally, this trade also financially handicaps them. What are they thinking?!?

Chris Sheridan
(2:41 PM)

They want to go into Brooklyn with a superstar, and they have come to realize that Brook Lopez is not that superstar. 'Melo would be their foundation piece, and they'd try to build around him.

Chris Sheridan

(2:44 PM)

Side note on Lopez: There was gentleman's action at the Bulls-Nets game a few nigh ago on who would grab more rebounds: Kurt Thomas or Lopez? Thomas beat him 6-3. A couple nights later, the Bucks started Ersan Ilyasova at center as Bogut sat out. Lopez grabbed one (ONE!) rebound, and he got it on the offensive end off a missed free throw when the Bucks had two 6-foot-5 guys lined up alongside him, each of whom got a hand on the ball before it ended up in Lopez's hands. (To his crdit, Lopez turned it into a three-poin play). Ilyasova grabbed 13 boards.
Peter (Seattle)

If Melo stuck to his guns and said NY or the highway, would DEN eventually have to give in?

Chris Sheridan
(2:46 PM)

No. They could trade him anywhere they pleased, and there is nothing 'Melo could do about it. He would then presumably opt out of his contract an become a free agent, thereby foregoing $83 million -- the $18 he is due to make next year, plus the $65 on the unsigned extension that is sitting on the table. Pretty high-stakes game of chicken, eh?
