Do you guys think Knight is big enough to play SG full-time? His game reminds me a lot of Mayo, or a young Gilbert Arenas. His 3pt shooting would certainly look good next to DeMar, and he is pretty long/athletic, can handle the ball well and blow by his man to get into the lane. Obviously it would be even better if he could really play PG, but I think even as a SG he would be a solid pickup if we end up drafting outside the top 5.

But, I think Irving + Singleton would be a GREAT draft. Singleton could be an impact player on defence.

TJones has much better passing ability, IQ, defense and shotblocking.

Agree. It gets depressing after Irving taken as number one and we get stuck choosing one of these uncertain players...

if only it was a 2006 draft where we'd be thinking of who fits in the raps if we were chosen top 6 : Rose, Beasley, Mayo, Westbrook, Kevin Love, Danilo Gallinari, Eric Gordon...one of these (except Gallinari) would make our lineup hot and wet !!

You mean the 2008 draft? 2006 is when we got Bargs...actually I think this draft is like 2006...

Well, if you look at it there's only one franchise player in that crop. I'd say that's fairly similar to this year's draft. There's Irving, and then a bunch of guys who could be something decent. IIRC, Gallo and Westbrook were considered mid-first late lottery types at the same time in their draft year. Kevin Love was also all over the map. Gordon had an off-year (albeit still an impressive one). There's actually some decent parallels.

Rose = Irving
Love = Sullinger
Gordon = Barnes
Gallo = Vesely
Mayo = Walker

And Kanter is the big wildcard.

I'm starting to tune into Sullinger more. He's putting up a PER of 50 on the best team in the nation. That pretty much commands attention.

He's only 18 as well. He's an interesting case because there are few likely lotto guys outside of maybe Donatas who would be worse fits for our team (as presently constructed), but he could be a really, really productive pro. So, BPA and all that...

This draft seems to be more like one of the old highschooler drafts at the early part of the decade, where there was more unknowns and leaps of faith required at the top 5 part of the draft. In recent years there has been more certainty amongst the top prospects.

nbadraft.net has Derrick Williams listed as the number 1 pick in the draft :o

On their forum some people questioned it. One guy who runs the site said some
scouts are starting to fall in love with him. His PER and %s are through the roof.

Hes compared to Beasley/D. West/K-Mart

I didn't know to much about him so I seen some video and he was quite impressive....

But suffers from classic tweener syndrome.... Hes 6'9 240

Probably plays the 4 in the pro's and with Amir Johnson and Ed Davis it would be hard to
find time for him.

Hes super athletic is a beast in the paint and can shoot the 3 (70% this year :o )

Hes the type of guy you'd want on your team espedcially when we have soft players like
Bargs and Jose.

pointguardu or proud tradition?
as much as I love him, he doesn't fit with the raptors. He idolizes lebron to an extent that you wouldn't believe. Be funny if he went to the cavs.

He can jump out of the gym too! He gets up real quick and finishes strong even with contact... He's been put on the radar as well

It matters not that we have Ed, Amir and Bargnani, if Williams turns out to be a can't miss you package one or more for a centre or PG and we're set!

I wouldn't mind packaging Bargs for a center...

But who would start at PF Davis, Williams, or Amir?

Even if you trade Amir.... Who starts Ed or Williams (Or Sullinger if you take him instead?)

wow! definitely some good things about this guy! From this mix, what I can tell is that this guy is very athletic for his size, has a good motor, is very quick all together.. with his first step as well very explosive. What I love the most about him is how quickly he can get up! There are a few plays in the mix where he either gets blocked or misses the shot, but he gets right back up in no time. Which is another good thing, he doesnt seem to give up on the play. But again, this was only a mix. And based on the mix, he really doesnt have too many post moves. Which can be an issue, as his nba position will most likely be the four. As mentioned havnt seem him in a game, how is his defence? and what nba player would you compare him to?

Just looked at some high school highlights of the guy.

He's athletic, has a jumper, has handles, has size but he looked out of shape. That's something that can be fixed though.
He looked like a point center sometimes handling it on the break or even half court.
