The Euroleague round of 16 began today. Valanciunus' team got its ass kicked by Panathanaikos which isn't surprising. Jonas played 10 minutes off the bench, got six point and seven boards. I didn't see the game, so I cant attest to the quality of those minutes, but as others have said, this is high level comp for an 18 year old who may be still growing and is certainly seven feet in shoes already. As the rebound numbers suggest and from the fact he was 4-4 from the stripe in those 10 minutes, he attacks the rim with tremendous energy.
I've seen him called a taller, beefier, more skilled version of Andris Biedrins. Although Biedrins can't hit a free throw if his life depended on it, and Jonas is an 86% free throw shooter.

I haven't even reached the stage where I know who's going to be on the board. I don't think we're going to have clarity until early May, much later than I would normally expect. One thing about the Euros in this draft, they won't be deterred by the lockout because they can stay in Europe with their draft position pre-determined, and avoid a deep 2012 draft where they might get sideswiped by a number of players who skipped the 2011 draft because of the lockout threat.
Irving is still my preference, maybe Perry, but after that, I'd almost prefer a player who can remain active through a lockout rather than a prospect NCAA player who will be working out - without coaching or summer league - for nine months.

I'm still hoping that a combination of the Miami big 3 will get injured, and the team finishes with a mediocre record. With the way this draft is looking why the hell not? If he can actually play the 3 effectively he could be a nice add!
I'm a fan of the explosive type this guy falls under that category.

He isn't just a dunker either he finishes with contact and gets to the line too. I'm new to this guy so take what I say with a grain of hmmmm...?? but I think if he plays the 3 he could be nasty for us.
