The Hawks are back!

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Sun Dec 30, 2007 10:28 am

Thought I should make a topic on this but it appears the Hawks are back which is good for the NHL.
On the 23rd, the Hawks drew 20,151 fans (98.3% full) against the Oilers. On the 26th, the Hawks drew 20,511 fans (100.1% full) against Nashville. Their game tonight has only standing room only tickets remaining which means we should have about 20,500 again. Not to mention, their next home game on December 6th is against the Red Wings so that should be another sell out.
If the NHL gains the Chicago market back, it will be in good shape.

Im glad to see them finally wake up after years of just terrible play. Im especially glad because they are an original 6 team.

Maybe the Wings/Hawks rivalry will be reborn?

awesome coach, awesome GM and have loads of skill on that team along with tons of speed. They prolly have the deepest farm system in the league also.

I said on the Hawks board, Chicago at heart is a hockey town, they just needed a hockey team worth paying attention to. They have one, and one that could be around for awhile.

Even if the Hawks miss the postseason this year, this city knows about this team now. That's something that absolutely needed to happen for this franchise.

As a long time Hawks fan who got hooked in the early 90's when we had Roenick, Chelios, Graham, Larmer, Goulet, Smith, and of course, Eddy Belfour and Dominic Hasek as a back up, I couldn't be happier to finally see the Hawks back into playoff contention. I expect us to make the playoffs next season and for Kane, Toews, Sharp and Seabrook to bloom into stars.

The future is bright for the Blackhawks and the NHL as a whole.
