Add Chandler then and what kind of pick? 1st round or 2nd round?

I assume you mean 1st but that's kind of steep.

So the Nuggets don't want Chandler or Gallo because they have to pay them this year or next yet they want one anyway? Doesn't make sense.

I agree on Donnie being reasonable but the problem is that you are assuming that your deal is the ONLY fair deal. We first need to understand what's more important to them, young player, draft picks or salary savings. For example, I would argue that another fair deal is:

Eddy + Gallo + Azubuike + Roger Mason Jr. + 2011 1st and $3 million for Melo and Harrington's horrific deal.

My point is that we need to see what other offers they get and what they value most and we move forward. There are many ways we can be reasonable with them without gutting the roster.

Indeed. Indeed, good sir.

No way they would take that. They might do that if you replace Bird with Harrington and put a gun to their head, but I'm pretty sure it would cost Galo or Fields. Maybe both.

They could just wait and take the 2nd rounder/TPE we'll offer in the offseason then.

You guys are miscalculating the importance of Azubuike's contract factoring into any NY/DEN deal. After 41 games missed his contract is 80% insured which is very important. Kroenke (owner) is on record as demanding SAVINGS in any deal where Melo is traded.

Our best offer WILL look like this:

Curry/Azubuike/Fields/Mozgov/2011 Pick (via Randolph)/2014 pick/two 2nd Round Picks/$3 million

— FOR —

Melo/Birdman

I think Nuggets would rather have Gallo. He still has 2 years left before he has to get paid and I think worst case for them is they could trade him next year for a pick or something if they didn't want to pay him.

IMO the Knicks need to come with a realistic offer and present it immediately. Team is in a slide (L4 straight). Spite can become a factor.

exactly, offer a real deal and get it done

watching him clowning durant last night, no one can really say we dont need him

get it done donnie!!!

What if we take Harrington and substitute Walker+Douglas in for Fields?

This is what I dont get. Maybe Im going senial though.... Why are people so quick to not include Chandler in a trade, when Gallo/Fields are going to get their paper in one more season? Just because Chandler said he "doesnt wanna sign in Denver"? Since when does Gallo or Fields? Whats the difference? Right now Chandler's game is best suited to "replace" Melo and hes the most well rounded scorer from a volume perspective. He could blow up in Denver to Rudy Gay/Danny Granger levels.

Plus who said Denver even wants Gallo? Didnt Karl call him a flopper? It seems they like Fields the most, and even Walker for god knows why .

Denver wont even be able to get much value in a trade for Gallo and Fields because after this season they will be FAs too. So can someone explain to me this myth? :D.

Now it looks like the Bulls want to give it one more try (two more?) before the inevitable happen.

The Lakers will also receive the Grizzlies second round draft choice in 2010. In exchange Memphis will receive forward Kwame Brown, guard Javaris Crittenton, guard Aaron McKie (who the Lakers signed earlier today), the draft rights to Marc Gasol and first round picks in 2008 and 2010

Folks please explain why we cant shoot for a deal like the above. Lakers had no leverage, they actually had there star player looking to bolt yet they somehow acquire on of the best bigs in the game for bench players and potential and crappy 1st rounders. And before someone says "But Marc Gasol is good", he was very raw and unproven then - kinda like what AR is now.

yeah i used to think that too, but you're right it doesnt make sense. the more i thought about, they were willing to take on devin harris and his contract, so re-signing one of them (gallo/chandler) will prob be right around harris's contract, so i dont think the contract thing is an issue
