Is the NBA ever gonna cut the WNBA off?

The NBA is hemorrhaging money as it is. I've heard Stern saying he expects to lose 200 million dollars this season alone. How much of the WNBA would account for that?

What makes you think the WNBA is unprofitable? And even if it is, the very existence of a sister league helps offset any sexist vibes people might get.

Why would they cut it? I'm not a big WNBA fan but I'm fine with having a women league. It's a good thing girls who love basketball can have, just like their male counterparts, a U.S. pro league to play in. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Stern has said this for a good long time, but I can not possibly see how it is true. There is way too much money flowing around with regards to apparel and endorsements (that I can only imagine the league gets a small percentage of) for the league to have an income problem. And if it's a spending problem, what in god's name is the NBA spending so much money on?

No, the only way this is true is if they have a flawed revenue structure and aren't getting their cut of all sales. Which, really, should be pretty fixable.
