Never?????

I have honestly never listened through a song that didn't feature Wiz or someone else idk. Maybe when i was 14 and thought I liked gangster rap and tried to listen to Papoose and Saigon? If I listened to a song of there's the whole way through it was on the radio which means it was as a feature on someone elses song most likely. I have to really like an artist to make it through a whole song by them. Primarily I listen to Lupe, Ye, Wiz, Cudi used to listen to B.o.B., but I overplayed his album and BoB vs Bobby Ray mixtape), The Roots, Em, Drake and occasionally some Wayne or Surreal and the Sound Providers (their one album)

It should be noted I'm just getting into Mac Miller

Edit/

Oh and Jay Z, The Beatles, Outkast, old Luda, some TI, Cream, Black Sabbath, Maynard Ferguson, N.E.R.D., Coldplay (I know), Linkin Park when I was younger, Thelonius Monk, Miles Davis, Train and a **** ton of other artists according to my itunes.

I guess I listen to a LOT of music and types, but not Snoop and Game.

Lol it was the PMS, her foot, eye infection, and her finally telling her mom about me (we're Muslim and her fam is strict and annoying as ****). She usually doesn't blow up on me though haha, I was nice to her/scared of her all weekend.

And no, she developed a bone spur a while ago but didn't wanna get it handled yet. The doc saw that due to her always working out on it she also had a fracture and yea the surgery was today.

That's a bummer man - hope it all worked out okay!

To simplify my music tastes over the last 6 months (in order of most played according to Last.FM)

1) Kanye
2) Cudi
3) Jay-Z
4) B.o.B.
5) Beatles
6) Ludacris
7) Roots
7) Wiz
9) Eminem
10) Lupe
11) Cream
12) Lil Wayne
13) Jazz Liberatorz
14) Nas
15) Jurassic 5

It should be noted that Wiz is now probably number 2 or 3 because of youtube and same with Lupe. That's just the **** I listen to in itunes and not on Pandora and **** either.

I definitely need to get some new music. I've been recommended stuff but haven't got around to anything. My guys include Pac, Big, Lupe, Kanye, Nas, Tech N9ne... I can listen to anything really as long it's not the **** they play over and over these days on Power (which I can NOT listen to anymore)

What type of music you looking for? I'd first recommend Kid Cudi (start with the mixtape and work your way up through his recent album) and off your list you should be listening to Jay Z.

Also check out J. Cole and Wale

My top three is the same as yours :D . Regarding Game, I think he fell off majorly after LAX, and Snoop has been meh for a while. The funny thing is that a Game fanboy actually got offended when I compared a younger Game to Nas lyrically. It was apparently an insult to be compared to Nas...smh.

I would def. give a listen to My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy by Kanye West. It's a hit or miss though...You'll either fall in love with it until you over play it or you won't like it at all. Personally I still can't stop listening to it 2-3 months after its release.

G=K, you need more J. Cole. For a college student, it doesn't get any better than J. Cole.

I must be getting old because I don't recognize half the artists on that list. :(

Beatles, Roots, and J5 I like though. If you ever get a chance to see the Roots live, man, don't pass it up. They put on one hell of a show. One of the few truly talented hip-hop bands left.

I know I need to listen to him more. I just started listening to J Cole to be honest. A little late on him compared to when I normally catch a new artist, but unfortunately I haven't had the time to listen to much music. I'm going 8-5 between classes and my new research position and that's not including studying or homework - that's literally a straight block every day with 10 minutes between classes and other than when I buy a g for the weekend I don't get nearly as much music as I'd like.

I took a trip to New Orleans with my jazz department in high school (was real cool, got to perform on a river boat and with some legit musicians - good experience) and while I was gone The Roots put on a free show in DC (an hour or so away from me) and then the week after I got back from New Orleans was Jazz Fest and The Roots were headlining one of the days there. I was mad I missed them.

Jazz Fest is on my bucket list.

I also think you'd enjoy Kid Cudi and Lupe Fiasco if you haven't heard them before.

Most kids in college used to like tech n9ne but I never got into his stuff. I loved Immortal technique though some of his verses are chilling.

Got one of Kid Cudi's tapes, I love everything I've ever heard from him. I have a **** of Jay but I'm not the biggest fan, he's aight to me.

Been recommended J Cole and Wale, I'll check em out.

Yea I got it, I get all of Kanye's stuff. I love it. It's not the best album from a strictly rap POV, but I can listen to it over and over again.

Tech N9ne is incredible, and I love Immortal Tech as well. You're right about chilling, I literally got chills the first time I heard Dance with the Devil.

Me and Technique are actually homies

GK the typical East Coast Hip Hop head who thinks
there's no good hip hop on the West Coast. LoL

I'll keep it real the West can't compete with the East.
The East just got soo many more Hip Hip Artists than the West.
I get into this debate all the time with my cousins in New York- Jersey, Chicago, South Carolina, and Miami.

Nonetheless, The West Coast got some heat Too! :D

To all the Game fans he just dropped his "Purp and Patron" Mixtape.
I'ts Free.
